Tiger's REALLY Close...

No? The only way to progress is to take it and put it under pressure. We're all 4 time All-Americans on the driving range...
I can see your point. He wouldn't be out playing if he wasn't hitting it well on the range, I'd have to think.

I'm also coming at it from my own perspective, which is a little backwards. I have to practice waaaaaay more than I play. One round a week is about my max, and usually in July or August I have to take a break. It's quite screwed up.

I'm de-railing the thread a bit after seeing Whistling Straits brought up, I really hope the PGA gets the bunker/not a bunker thing figured out. It's pretty simple, IMO. Inside the ropes = bunker. Outside the ropes = not a bunker.

Hahah for sure. The difference is all those mornings that you're mowing, he's practicing. I have no doubt that he's doing what he wants on the range. I haven't been paying attention (life gets in the way) for a few months, but all the reports before the Masters were about how good he was striking the ball. Supposedly he took an absolute dump on Jordan when those two played with Crenshaw at the Masters. He just hasn't played enough to rid himself of the thoughts when he's playing for keeps.

I honestly think the 3 remaining majors will really help him get his mojo back. Putting it in fescue and having to muscle it out is a lot different than having OB or water in play on his misses. I hope that stepping up to the tee and seeing miles of open space will let him just fire away. Speaking from experience, there is a correlation between the overall openness of a course and my driving accuracy. The fairways at Saddleback aren't any wider than those at Finkbine, but I'm far better at hitting the fairway Saddleback.

That comfort will only come if he's playing tournament golf, I believe.

You guys just don't get it. Tiger set the bar so unbelievably high....
That's really all I need to see. I'm one of Tiger's biggest fans. He's past his prime and will never get to that point again. Nobody will. . But he will compete and have his chance to win some majors. He has plenty of golf left in him.

Unless he swallows some bride and goes back to his old swing coach he should just retire and enjoy life

What makes you think that? Wouldn't he have done that yesterday if that was the case? He played in the first group all alone this morning.

If Tiger is healthy he'll play the PGA (and the US, British, and 3-5 others).

Just hope he doesn't that's all ;)
