Mid major talent, terrible coach, and “too white,” yet here we are. I don’t expect Iowa to beat Tennessee because they have Final 4 talent but I’m proud of this team for showing so much resiliency against Cincinnati.
I can't stand the chumps on here that whine about losses before games are even played!
That said, I can't stand people bringing up last year like that is what we should compare seasons to.....

C'mon, OP. I appreciate your blind faith in this team, but you have to admit that they earned the negative attitude from much of the fan base. Maybe you can declare yourself a "better fan" than most, but you don't need to turn on everyone. This is a great time to be a Hawkeye; this is not a time for infighting. You should just be satisfied that you've "earned" the pleasure more than some of us.

14-19 NEVER should have happened given the position the program was in. It’s not like this season hasn’t been some miraculous turnaround. Yes, we made it back to respectability but we never should have lost it in the first place.

Everyone on this HR board is Iowa fan, not necessarily a Fran fan and a lot of us think Barta is a crap AD. Super happy Iowa beat Cincinnati and hope they an upset UT, but expecting we might get blown out based on Fran's history vs Gonzaga and Villanova.

Well ....here come the cry babies! Even after winning we must complain. Last years record was due to youth ...this year we are much better ...next year better yet! Enjoy the ride and stop complaining!!
I was shocked, they all played like veterans. The youth on our team bodes well for the next two years. We only lose Nicholas Baer to graduation.
Who cares? Your first thought after a big tourney win is to come on an internet message board and attempt to rub it in to fellow Hawkeye fans who maybe are more skeptical than you? Might be time to step back and just enjoy the win.

Fran made a nice adjustment going to the press to speed up the game.
The question is, why did he wait until we had dug ourselves a whole? It was the obvious strategy against this team. And no, that's not hindsight I posted that opinion yesterday afternoon.
Look I'm very happy we won and I don't necessarily want Fran gone. But as shown today, we have the talent to play at a high level, when our players are put in positions where they can maximize the skills they have and minimize the exposure to their limitations.
That's what coaches are for. Fran, too many times, gets caught "watching the game" not coaching the game. Today he coached. We need to enjoy it.
He needs to coach every game.

In terms of expecting more....expectations need to be realistic for this year and this team has exceeded everyone’s expectations for this year.
I want more....wanting and expecting are two different things.
