To those of you who are "all in" with Fran (and Barta)

What is your expectation for this team in 2019-20?

It's apparent that overall this year was better than most expected...(a tremendous success for the kool-aid crowd)...and indeed, the team far exceeded almost everyone's expectations. Should they go on and actually win a couple in the NCAA that would be awesome by any measure and a unified Hawkeye Nation would rejoice.

I'd like to ask a question of those who will still rejoice and celebrate a tremendous season even should they lose in the first round, thus ending the year on fairly sour note.

What is your expectation for this team next year if everyone returns (sans Baer of course) and remains healthy?

We don’t have the talent to win games in the NCAAs. maybe one. big whoop.

next year, more of the same. Wake me when the Fran era is over.

Who exactly are you talking to? I don’t think anyone is “all in” on either of them.
It's the same as with the bitter fans regarding Ferentz/Barta.

I wouldn't say I'm "all in" with anyone, but if those coaches/Barta bother a poster that much.............of course I'm going to troll their bitterness as fans.

Just seems like common sense to me......

People like you mainly ...those who defend Fran and don’t like any critical posts about him.

The only reason i have to defend Fran is the complete lack of objectivity used by a large number of people to assess what he’s done here.

I’ve repeatedly stated for the past year that I felt he should and would be fired if we missed the tournament this year. I feel the same if we don’t finish in the top half of the conference next year and don’t have a great 2020 recruiting class that includes Foster and top PG. if we are going to make a new hire I want to be able to offer the candidates a few pieces to work with so the job is more attractive.

Send all the assistant packing and see what Fran can replace them with. If it’s the same result next year, pay the buyout and let Barta screw up another hire.

Under Fran hopefully Iowa runs a clean program, but one thing under Fran that will never happen at Iowa is contending for, or winning a conference championship. He neither brings in the needed players or teaches defense that is the core of being a conference champion.
I will never see it in my lifetime with this coaching staff in charge!

4 tournaments in 6 years.. I’m not going to complain. There is a point where it needs to go beyond that and I think next year is that year. If there’s no sweet 16 next year I don’t think Fran needs to go but I do think you put an end to extensions and keep it at 2-3 years MAX..

The problem with 2 or 3 years is recruits want the coach for their entire time. Tough to recruit with short contracts.

Yeah and I would say tough chit figure it out.. you had your chance! Would maybe force him to use the transfer option. Or yeah just make years 3-5 no buyout.

Maybe I'm the only one but I support Coach Fran 100%. The team was greatly improved over last season. We are in the tourney and have a chance at making a run this year.

I especially applaud the efforts of the players including Connor Mac and Maishe. They are good people and they work hard and give great effort in representing our University. We add several interesting pieces next season. Pemsl is tough, Nunge can score, Joe T can defend and distribute, Patrick has a high bball IQ and CJ can shoot. I'm excited to see how they all fit together and who sits.

The only way I abandon the Franship is Lickliter level passion. That'll be the day!

I don't view it as a tremendous success, I view it as a tremendous improvement.

I think there is a very high percentage of the fan base that is in agreement about Barta. That being of course that he needs to be gone.

I'm not a Fran fan, but Barta needs to go before Fran.

Why, based on this board? The few Hawk fans I talk to do not agree.

"complete lack of objectivity". I love irony.

Hi Gary!

What exactly makes your Hawk friends think that Barta isnt part of the problem? Other schools would have fired him based on the lawsuits alone because if he were competent that could have been avoided. Add in he has mishandled nearly every situation.

The people on this board want Barta fired for Kirk's and/or Fran's extensions, especially Fran's.
It was actually Kirk’s poorly negotiated buyout, not so much the extension. Fran’s extension was completely unnecessary and includes the same asinine restrictive buyout.

How many times has Barta had to appear in court and ultimately cost the Athletic dept for something that could have been avoided?

Barta screwed up with the Fran extension and only reported once they had to.

Barta could have handled the Dolphin situation better, but choose to act like it wasnt his problem.

UA AD of the year two years ago

CFP committee

Other high profile NCAA committee appointments

His coaches love working for him

Total embarrassment
