after the storming of the field last Saturday. He said someone around him looked like they broke their ankle and a referee was getting trampled. It took about 30 minuets for him to get out of the chaos. He said the Iowa players and staff were great though, making sure everyone was safe and helping others out.

I think if you run onto the field there is no way the U of I can be liable for any injuries suffered.

As far as the safety of officials i'm not sure how to prevent that outside of stopping play at 0:01 and attempting to remove as many as possible before the final whistle.

Urban walked a third of the way to mid field and made an abrupt turn toward lockers surrounded by several trooper then they hauled ass literally like streaked shit I was funny to watch I bet he was shitting his pants when he saw the stampede of students coming

Seemed like McShay had a good time in IC nonetheless.

His take on Josh Jackson - "Long w/ natural cover skills. WR hands. Still developing eyes/technique. Early-rd pick when he comes out, but would benefit from another yr"

Spot on IMO

Unfortunately they hit the field with about 12 seconds left, so that wouldn't have helped. There have been people hurt pretty bad in some of these melees in both football stadiums, and basketball arenas. My other big concern is a fan getting in the face of an opposing player, so quickly, and with emotions still raw. Not trying to be the old guy, saying stay off my lawn, just saying these situations are scary.

Exactly that Nebraska player knocked out that Missouri fan about 10 years ago down in Colombia

I'm glad I stayed in stands Sat I'm 46 I'd be traction if I got blindsided like that you reap what you sow

If one guy got hurt out of the 1,000s that stormed the field, I don't see the issue. We can't bubble wrap the whole world.

And, again, you storm the field at your own risk. Nobody forced anyone to join the melee. Also, maybe the person who may have been injured was drunk or whatever. Stuff happens.

Amazing anyone could get by the crackerjack security group guarding the field.
What a waste of $$. After bag checks, etc send them home off the clock.
Defund the band then lower the tuition increases.

I'm really not taking sides here pro or con. The event in its entirety, makes for great spectacle. Just saying, I've been concerned that one day we're going to see a major catastroffic event during one of these field or court rushing events.

It was all over the place last year when a older hawk fan got rocked by a michigan player chris Wormley I believe

I was smack in the middle of it. And not once did I feel unsafe or smashed in. I was also carrying $25k with if camera gear. Not once did anyone grab my gear or mess with it.

Sucks that people got hurt

I am. 51 and climbed over the west stands wall ( needed help getting back over on the way out). Never felt unsafe. Was completely sober too, maybe that helped

Nah man. What the USC player did was completely intentional and clearly crossed the line. You don't deserve that if you storm the field for Christs sake.
