Tom Brands to appear on Murph & Andy Show at 3 pm CST Thursday (10/1)

As mentioned in the HWC Showdown thread, Coach Brands will be in studio with Murph & Andy today. For those outside of central Iowa, the Murph & Andy Show is a popular sports talk radio show on KXNO (106.3 FM, 1460 AM) in Des Moines. The plan is for him to chat with them for about 45 min; good chance that you’ll hear more about the Showdown and many other topics.

He takes them though the Covid situation. His philosophy on why high level wrestlers make the best coaches (Smith, Cael, Brands, Gable). What makes a good assistant coach. Gable's single mindedness during the 1972 Olympics.

He was very straight forward about Virginia Tech. Said the admin and the coaching staff would not release the wrestlers. He said he doesn't take the orange thing personally...Tom actually used the term "pussy" on air. He said that Dresser hired him to come to coach at his camps...you don't hire a pussy to put on a clinic so why change your story. Too much stuff in there really and I don't give it justice.
