Tom Herman takes a subtle shot at ISU

I think Brian Ferentz made a very similar comment last year (or year before?). But since it was BF, everyone here probably trashed him and said he shouldn't speak like that publicly. Ha
He shouldn't.
Why the hell would we care what herman does? Plus its not like this is the first time he's opened his mouth.....

ISU fans will wear this as a badge of honor... claiming Herman is worried about the Clones.

The ISU coach must have a theory to throwing out so many offers. I guess the "what have we got to lose" approach can't hurt.

He didn't seek out ISU to make them a target he just wanted to contrast styles and he found that the team that offered the most kids was ISU. I get why ISU is doing it but they can't really be thoroughly evaluating all of the kids they offer.

Its the ISU golf card game. You pick up anything remotely lower and keep tossing cards. The shotgun approach. They will hit on something if they throw enough into the air.

If only he would now refer to them as the team up north or the team in Ames. That'd be glorius. BF needs to give TH a call.

Well now. I bet ISU remembers that when they play Texas. Unfortunately for ISU, Texas is about to return to what Texas should have been. Somebody there that can get the talent and knows how to use it.
For someone as smart as Herman, he has a short memory of his days at ISU. The schools that aren't The Ohio States or Texas have to work harder to recruit to be successful. I like this coach and staff and working harder than everybody else to succeed. More power to Campbell.

Just because you are offering more scholarships than everyone else does not mean you are working any harder than other programs. In fact, once kids realize that getting an offer is no big deal, this strategy may backfire a bit.

I get that and the recruits are looking at ISU and talking to Campbell and they like him and his vision. And oh yeah, his vision is working.

Campbell is good for ISU no doubt. Will be fun Iowa / ISU games while he is there.

You gotta ask yourself, what the hell does the Texas coach care what ISU is doing? Like it or not, it's getting under peoples skins, including the younger Free-rent. We are getting higher ranked classes than we have in the past, beat 2 top ten teams last year, won a bowl game and now have two coaches crying about how we recruit - keep telling yourselves it's not working.

ISU still didn't even crack the top 50 for recruiting classes this year.

As for Herman I don't think he is too worried about losing guys to ISU just reiterating his point when Texas offers it means something and ISU is by far the most obvious example of throwing out offers to use since they gave more than any team in conference.

Because Texas is suppose to be a "name" school. It doesn't matter. The smaller schools have to recruit and work harder. So what? I don't begrudge anyone who works their tails off to be successful. Frankly, ISU will take this kind of press all day everyday.

So Jamie Pollard hired coaches who didnt work hard? So much for him being the genius clown fans claim him to be.

No one, but the people of clownville, gives a ratsass what goes on in "Shitstain Ames." You have one mediocre season(by Iowa's standards) and you are over here pounding your chest. Remember, you are one of the worst programs in the history of college football.

Now go clean your room.

No. Please work on your reading comprehension skills.

My reading comprehension skills are just fine. You were saying how awesome it is Campbell works so hard. Does that mean he works harder than the previous isu saviors? Or is he just the same?

You see you can’t have it both ways either he works harder than the previous isu saviors or he doesn’t. If he doesn’t then why will the outcome be any different? If he does, then why has it taken so many coaching hires for Pollard to get it right if he is a awesome as clown fans profess?

Wow you really have some anger issues. We all have our opinions and I am not on here to try to insult. I know you don't represent the rest of your fan base.
