Who is everyone pulling for in the following:

Wisky vs NW
Maryland vs Mich

Normally I would want the home team since it is harder to pick up a road win but my gut tells me I want Wisky to beat the cats and hopefully start their decline, and Maryland to push Michigan down. Thoughts? Hopefully entertaining games.

Wisky has plenty of teams that will beat them down the road. So, tonight, Wisky. Michigan as it will take a few years for me to allow Maryland a spot in the Big Ten other than wishing they would lose.

Makes sense.....watching the paint dry on BTN right now. How many people does that hell hole hold anyway?

Based on my belief that we are contenders for the Big Ten title this year, I'm hoping Michigan, who I consider a middle of the pack team (albeit with a pretty easy schedule), beats Maryland. Wisconsin/Northwestern? Doesn't matter. Both appear to me to be middle/lower level finishers. I gotta say though, I do so love watching Wisconsin suck!

After Wisky puts the finishing touches on this loss, they, at 9-9, will have a worse record than Nebraska, for the time being (9-8).

Wisconsin is a shell of its former self. Bo left the well dry.

Northwestern is just good enough to beat the bad teams in the B1G. There are 5 more games in which I would say they have a chance to win. The rest of the games are either on the road or at home against teams that should overpower them. So if they win all the games I think they possibly can, they would be 8-10 in the B1G with 19 wins overall. I don't think they will make it into the NCAAs, even if they win at least 2 in the B1G tourney as there will probably be 7 teams with better records in the B1G and their RPI is pretty bad.

Wisconsin's forecast is even more bleak. And I am happy to see it. I just wish that Bo were still the coach.

Bo Ryan wanted to retire after last season, but the Wisconsin
AD talked him out of it. Ryan knew the cupboard was bare.
Now the Badgers will face uncertainty in the rebuilding process,
because they really do not have a new head coach yet. The
guy now is really an interim coach.

And it could not have happened to a nicer school:)

I love watching Wisky fall and fall hard. Bo wanted to go out on top cause he knew this years team was going to be bad. If Dekker would have stayed and Utoff would be on this years team they would be something special but they were finally hit by graduation and early departures.

I don't think NW beating Wisconsin result will matter, I do not fear the Cats. I'd have to say I'm cheering for Michigan. Take the optimism route and say we're competing for the title. Might not work for us in the standings later, but never fear success my friends.

Meanwhile, ISU trailing Texas by 4 with 2:14 remaining. SOS may take a small hit from the Clones.

#3 MD 67- @MI 70
The Tuesday B1G upset.
Possibly Zak Irvin's best game to date? Came in averaging 9pts/25% from 3. Led all scorers with 22, hitting 3/7 from 3. Statistically, that's where MI won the game, at the 3 point line, hitting 12/29 for 41% themselves and holding MD to 6/24 for 25% from 3.

I feel good about this outcome for 2 reasons:
1) MD loss when Iowa's in the B1G hunt
2) MI strength is 3pt shooting. MI and IA are 2/3 in the league in 3pt shooting. But while IA is 2nd in 3pt D, MI is 10th.

On the other hand, MI is going to be riding high after this win, and have 2 more days than Iowa to get ready for the @IA game on January 17. Win or lose @MSU, it's going to be difficult to not have a little letdown for the next game, even for seniors.
