Too early first team all B1G

Call me crazy but I think Ayo has a shot at B1G POTY too.
Tom and Matt mentioned that in their most recent podcast. I was thinking about that too after the recent losing streak and Garza having off games by his standards. I think if he finishes strong, there is a great chance and probability that LG wins it still but its worth a deeper dive and not a forgone conclusion like it once was.

Are conference honors based off of full season numbers or just conference numbers?

Full Season:

Garza:

24.5 PPG
8.4 RPG
1.6 BPG
1.8 APG
56.2% FG
43.1% 3FG
70.3% FT

Ayo:

21.3 PPG
6.0 RPG
1.1 SPG
5.1 APG
49.1% FG
42.2% 3FG
80.6% FT

Conference Games Only:

Garza:

22.1 PPG
8.1 RPG
1.3 BPG
2.1 APG
49.6% FG
34.1% 3FG
70.8% FT

Ayo:

19.8 PPG
5.3 RPG
1.1 SPG
5.1 APG
47.0% FG
42.9% 3FG

So far my list

Garza-Iowa
Ayo- illinois
Jackson- Davis- Indiana

Cockburn -Illinois ?
Liddle-OSU ?
Wieskamp-Iowa ?
Wagner- Michigan ?
T Williams- Purdue ?

plus :

Harper
Carr
Dickinson
Trice
Livers
Pretty good stuff ,
Who else and are those first 3 locks?

good call, someone will be on there for UM. Dickinson has been getting a lot of the pub for them because of how well he has played but Livers has great numbers.

Right now, my best guess would be Garza, Ayo, Livers, TJD and Liddell.
I could see that.

I also think the overhype for Cokeburn is real, so he may slip in, instead of Liddell.

I think Michigan deserves 2 or 3 guys on the 2nd team than 1 guy on the 1st team. Just not any individual dominant enough in a conference loaded with potential All Americans.

To be fair, they have had fewer chances to showcase themselves than their B1G colleagues.

I also think this is the most likely class, but results in the last few weeks could move others ahead of Livers and Liddell. I think Keegan is close to a lock at being on the all freshman team. Results will determine whether Weesy is second or third team. If Luka continued his more human performances of the past couple of weeks and Ayo led Illannoy to first or second place, POY could be close. It has been Luka's to lose for the past month.

Great that Wieskamp has turned it on of late. His body of work, though, isn't enough for first team given the quality of players on other teams in the best conference in the country.

JoeW reminds me of jok situation his Jr year except I think B1G talent is deeper this year.. On the Jok/Uthoff team. Uthoff was 1st team, I don't recall if Jok made it. That Iowa team was 3 or 4 way tie for 3rd place.

If you have 2 first team All B1G guys on your team and are 4th place, it doesn't say much for the other 3 starters or the coach. CMAC and JBO do not scare many B1G teams. Fredrick is a stud, but he doesn't shoot enough and isn't healthy.

stick a fork in OSU. Michigan has 4 guys that can score and Dickinson in post who converts at high percentage. If you double team Dickinson, you are dead. OSU doesn't have a 7ft'er that can guard Dickinson one on one and that was the game.

IMO top 3 are locks, but who are the other 2 first teamers , I’m sure I’m missing a couple other possibilities
Garza, Ayo, Cockburn, TJD, Dickinson

Ivey from Purdue is on my Freshman list. He's like Ayo Lite. He's going to be a pain in the butt for as long as he's there.

he might be the best player in the country right now with a 20% or less 3 point percentage on a high number of attempts.

I would probably lean towards Marcus Carr and Cockburn to round out the first team.
