Top 5 for Tyger Campbell

I think they said last night that LaLumiere was a private Catholic school with an enrollment of about 250, many of which are foreign students.

I don't know specifics on most, but I know that some do play a "normal" conference schedule and others don't. I think it might depend on the area they draw from. If they are more of a national level type of prep school, they only play other preps and some high level "normal" HS. If it's more of a regional/local draw, they'll be in a conference with other locals.

Again, that's a guess based on a few I've seen.

Okay I assume that Oak Hill just plays prep schools and has no "state" championship to play for.

I was just wondering about some of these schools. I noticed Tyler Cooks' school out of STIL played some National games, but also played in a conference and also played for a state championship.

I was just curious as I see some of these teams play a lot of basketball. I know the state of Iowa is different in that they do not allow teams to go play in "holiday tournaments" like other states do.

Cedar Rapids Regis, what a blast from the past. I remember when Regis and LaSalle were the whipping posts of the MVC. Then while I was in high school they combined to form Xavier and they're pretty competitive now.

Not to be a Richard, but those two schools weren't in the MVC. The ECIC and then the WAMAC. They played the local high schools at times, but weren't in the conference.

That's definitely correct regarding LaSalle. I'm a LaSalle grad in the late 70's (yes, I'm old) and we definitely were in the ECIC at the time. As the U2 drummer mentions, I know LaSalle moved onto the WAMAC later - maybe in the 80's???.

I don't recall Regis playing in the ECIC though. I think they were independent when I played (definitely not in the MVC, that was always just the public schools until Xavier). It's been a long time so I may not be remembering correctly.

Long ways away, but hey you never know.

Xavier Foster & Tyger Campbell would make a heck of a combo. With our other expected 4+ star recruits coming in, DEEP tournament runs are virtually guaranteed... Let's hope it happens!
