Topher Carton - Daily Iowan article

I don't see Laux at 126. To much of a cut for him these days. I also don't think Happel will b at 133 next year either, although I'm not sure of his walking weight.

I think it's
126 Wagner/Stickley
133 Laux/Rathbun/Stickley
141 Happel/?

Does Stickley redshirt next year? I'd rather have Happel build up vs cutting down for the future

If Laux can get down there, I don't think there's much doubt he's our best option at 125.

Would love to see Carter get down to 133 similar to the way Gross dropped this season.

I think Phil and Carter would both have a good deal more success at 125 and 133, respectively, than at 133 and 141, provided they can handle the cut.

Technically true, #19 of the Sr recruits by Earl's d1 ranking. That's SR's only, of course.

Fwiw, FLO had him at #8 in his HS weight class (145#), with 4 JRs and a Soph ranked ahead of him.

FLO put him #34 on their "Big Board" of Class of '16.

Not trying to rag on the guy, and as that's still a good recruit. But still, I'm not convinced he'll be the answer at 141. N Lee handled him fairly easily in Fargo semifinal. Maybe under TnT he'll develop. I hope so.
Brandon Sorenson was #27 on earls rankings and he'll be going for his 4th AA honor next year. I'm not convinced on Happel yet either because we haven't seen him compete in a Big Ten schedule. In that same Fargo tournament if I'm not mistaken he beat McKee who was a round of 12 guy this year as a true frosh.
