Nice article in the Wisconsin State Journal about the Iowa recruit Toren Young - considered one of the top football players from Wisconsin. The last big name Wisconsin running back that committed to Iowa was Melvin Gordon. Sound like Iowa is getting a nice player!

Wisco can have their pick of the litter at RB these days. They are not going to offer a guy who is not even one of the top 10 hs players in their state and who has no other offers. I'd say this is a safe commit. It's also a pretty safe bet this kid ends up at a position other than RB at Iowa, as he is more of a Weismann type player than a Shonn Greene

Lots of people think he'll end up at fullback and it was a huge reach that Iowa even offered. He's probably the lowest-rated recruit that we have right now. Recently ranked only the 14th best senior prospect in the state by BadgerBlitz

Our running back recruiting has been horrible for years.

Not a bad night. It will be interesting to follow his senior year. One where he turns some heads and shows that he elevated his game, making others jealous he is a Hawkeye.

I hope they throw to him more this year, and develops into a well rounded RB... His coach makes it sound like he has a good supporting cast this season. So that should allow for spreading of the ball. Assuming his QB can get it to him.
