**** that. I'll take a couple WTF moments on the offensive end for his defensive motor
I hear you. His defensive toughness is amazing.
Been a long time since Iowa has had a PG where if there is a dribble/drive it starts with "Oh Sh!t, here we go" and ends in either me being pissed or happy.
Last night he had a couple great sequences. Then he tried to do a bit much an got blocked a couple times(although i still think the one pinned against the glass may have been goaltending). But i love the aggressiveness. It’s a benefit having someone like him on the bench you can throw out there and he can be crazy aggressive defensively because fouls on him don’t really matter since he’s only gettin 10-15min/gm
I don't think that "Turbo Toussaint" necessary needs to take a Valium before each game, but maybe a little less Adderall wouldn't hurt.
PLEASE somebody get that man a pair of shoes that won't slide when he hits the breaks.
I love his energy on defense. His quickness will get him a ton of open mid-range shots and his passing is improving each game now. I look for JT to double his minutes as an upperclassman. He is a key piece going forward.

An edible might help. Love the effort, but just goes a tad too fast.
I just don't understand how he constantly loses his footing that then leads to a turnover. It happens way too often. Control that back swing and lag that club dammit. Once he does that he will be hitting bombs! Love his defense - knows he's tough and plays like it.

Why can't we get a point guard like Curbelo, Illinoes recruited this kid from New York City and he's terrific, Fran recruits Joe Toussaint from New York City and is a turnover waiting to happen. Just don't see what posters on here see in him that they want him to replace JBO. Joe T. only sees 20 points in his dreams and he not only confuses himself out on the court but his teammates have no clue what he's doing either.

We dont need our PG to score 20 per game. I agree that JT has some serious blemishes. He is still a WIP.
I believe Ulis has a good chance to pass him. He is much more smooth, high BBIQ, does not seem prone to turnovers, but brings enough athleticism to provide that creativity we desperately need. He was a good shooter in h.s. but will have to prove that he can knock down some shots.

Exactly, thats why Fran needs to just accept his TOs and play him anyway because Iowa is better team with him on the floor when you consider both ends of the court.
Split Connors minutes between Keegan and Joe and you have a much more well rounded team overall.
And yes a few more turnovers.
You think a top player like Curbelo wants to come here and sit behind Connor, or lose minutes to him? Guy doesn't belong on the floor. Nepotism at its finest. Other than that Fran can't recruit athletes, and it shows.
What if I told you that Toussaint averaged 1.2 more assists than Curbelo per 100 possessions, on only .2 more turnovers? Curbelo also turns it over more than Toussaint did last season.
While I agree he is out of control too often, he makes some passes which are amazing. The bounce pass to Garza was outstanding. He will be a key part of the team next season. I also agree he doesn't to be a big scorer to contribute to the team. I think he and Ulis will be more than adequate next year.
