Some teams have no respect for their opponents. Generally led by their coaches, they constatntly trash talk and are cocky as hell. These teams just piss me off. Play ball and not be so into yourselves. Respect the other teams and stop trash talking and all the cockiness. So, in the B10, who are these teams and coaches. Unlike in past seasons, currently none come to my mind that act that way. What are your thoughts ? 😎❤️🏀

All in the eye of the beholder, my friend. Garza scored and got fouled last night and yelled “AND ONE!” and proceeded to stare down the Wisconsin bench. Something tells me that if Ayo did that, you’d consider it “show boating” or “trash talking” or whatever.

Personally, I have no problem with it and see it as neither. For example, I’ve seen both players mentioned interviewed and think they’re great kids. They just play hard and get into it.

He did it because Potter yells it all the time. Imagine playing in that game and someone yells it constantly, at some point it will get to you. I’m guessing Potter was on the bench at the time and it was directed at him.

Refs need to let more of it go, a bunch of ridiculous technical fouls this season. I guess with no/limited fans they can hear more of the talking? It's hard to believe they would have been handing out so many Ts all along if they had just been able to hear it.

Shoot, it is probably our team. Wisconsin is just annoying. Davison talks all the time and the free throw line and Potter does yell "and 1" after every shot.

Garza gives a lot hand motions and talks at benches. Bohannon will when he's on fire. Connor whines and talks a lot to other players/ refs. Granted, we have guys like Murray and Weez that don't say anything as well so we aren't all bad :)

that game was a street fight..... players get emotional..... It was kinda cool seeing Garza and Wisconsin’s coach have a moment after the game.... a lot of these guys are friends off the court

That's just the times today unfortunately.

Saw an interview with Ayo a few days ago, they noted he and Trent liked to chirp a lot during games and asked him who some of the best trash talkers in the conference were. He thought about it and failed to come up with anyone, so he finally said, "probably me and Trent." He did mention there were some guys in the league that would start talking late in the game if they had a sizable lead, but he and Trent took pride that they started from the opening tip. Have to respect the honesty.

Are you saying other players dont have a good reason to trash talk like Garza did? Are you privy to the on-goings in other games?

The " Karate Kid " P Mulcahy from Rutgers did just that last night against the Illini and was promptly T'd up...

Yeah let's have all players be emotionless robots. They have to pass it four times before they can shoot, no matter what! Then I can't wait to watch them shake hands after the game. If I see a player not make eye contact with another player while shaking their hand I'm going to lose my mind over the arrogance of that player. The nerve!

Jaacks was a thug. I didn't like him as a Hawk, either.
Still can't believe he ever played college ball, he was on the sophomore team when I was a freshman in HS before he moved away. He was Jake Van Hove back then. I think he changed it to Jake Crain before Jake Jaacks, he was so bad/awkward as a soph, must have worked his tail off

Did I say that? Trash talking in game is fine, it’s how the game is played but trash talking from the bench is not.

I truly believe it’s one of those things if they’re on your side you are ok with it probably....Frans teams in the past would have chirpy players and then not always be able to back it up in big moments....if you’re talking the talk you dang better walk the walk...

Gard probably got lost in the minute and was coaching Luka on grabbing the opponents jersey as a defensive tactic.

This. I cringed every single time one of his elbows found it's intended target, which seemed to happen about 8 times a game.
true! I think he used to sharpen them prior to tip off and then again at halftime... ;)

Did you watch basketball in the 80s and 90s? Trash talking has been around at least as long as I've been watching, and might have been worse 30 years ago?
Nah. It's more the culture at large now.

In the postgame presser yesterday, Luka, when asked about the Illini matchup, gave kudos to Ayo as one of the best players in the country, and mentioned Kofi as Ayo's sidekick. Wonder if that's why Kofi came out of the chute like an angry bull, lol.

so just why do they need to be running their mouth? Shut up and play. Then people wonder why things get chippy. I would be fine with getting this crap out of the game

Juwann Howard has recently been exposed for talking trash to players. If true that is the biggest douche move involving trash talk in the big

Howard trash talking yesterday and then charging after Turgeon was a disgrace to coaching. Can't believe the cover the media and the B1G gave for him. Fran would have been crucified. Sounds like more and more is coming out about Howard from the rest of the league. Dude loves to trash talk other players and apparently isn't against fighting other coaches. Will be interesting to watch over the years. Especially next year when he will have a green and inexperienced team full of blue chip players.

I can't imagine players on the court or on the bench behaving like choir boys. Players have talked smack for years. Why change a good thing? Sometimes it makes players play harder.
