gets his RS pulled. Just saying...
Have no fear — a juggernaut is in the plans, whether or not Lee and Warnerov redshirt this year.and from that I guess we can conclude.....what exactly?
If it's regarding Lee, it's all about his rehab. Unless he is 100%, it's not worth doing. If he is 100%, it may still not be worth doing. If it's about Warner, a reasonable consideration, given he just beat #3 Miklus by MD.
Jmho, I still favor keeping RSs on for both of these guys and look for creating a juggernaut, starting with the 2018-19 team.
That Michigan has shown many times that they are willing to start a TF. Might be one reason why they just landed 3 blue chippers in Paris, Silva, & Lewan this year. Like I said, just saying...and from that I guess we can conclude.....what exactly?

More likely. The reason you would choose Iowa is that your interests and desires would always be the top priority unlike at other schools. My thoughts exactly.
When the Spencer Lee expose comes out I bet we will hear this. Said to Spencer Lee's father by Carl Sanders & others "Why would you go to Iowa, you know Spencer has no shot of seeing the lineup as a true freshman."

Most of them do end up taking a RS, just not as a true freshmen. Some of them have had injuries and were probably happy they had the RS to burn at the time.May, to some degree, be one reason that many of their wrestlers don’t reach expectations as well. Just saying . . .
I agree that it would be ideal to either go all in or leave all of the shirts on this year. The coaches are always sensitive to what their guys want, but all or nothing would seem to be the most logical way to go where the team is concerned. It’s “all in” or keep the shirts on. TnT can’t half ass this one. Either Lee, Murin @ 33 & Warner all go or we keep the shirts on. Sitting the other two and starting Lee does nothing this year and doesn’t help our future. If Lee and Warner win Midlands and Murin places very high then we have to go all in. Also agree that if we don’t pull these shirts it will kill future recruiting.
No doubt, the very last thing Spencer or the program needs is a recurrent ACL tear like what Sam had to endure. If he does go this year, the degree of medical certainty that the knee is good to go needs to be as close to 100% as possible.I have no idea how Lee or Warnerov want or even better how Lee's knee is. I trust TNT and the doctors/trainers and Lee to do what they feel is best for him. I have no inside info but I'd bet if Lee got the green light from the medical staff and really wanted to wrestle this year that TNT wouldn't stand in his way. I'd say the same goes for Warnerov. With the current day atmosphere of true freshman wrestling right out of the gate, I'm guessing TNT are okay with letting a kid go if he and/or his family are okay with it. I don't see them pissing these blue chippers off with their new recruiting strategy.
That being said, I have to wonder if you're someone that has had a serious knee injury (and maybe even a shoulder) that it isn't wise to insure that you've had enough time to recover. I mean I would think "more time" can't hurt can it? Does an extra 3 or 6 months reduce the chances of a reinjury by 5%, 10%, more. less? Also, don't you think a blue chipper (or any D1 wrestler) might be "over zealous" in regards to how his body feels and has a sense of being invincible?
I'm in the camp of weighing all the options and everyones' opinions and do what's best for the kid...but damn, this board will come unglued if we stroll someone out there and they get reinjured. I will predict a record breaking Grothus thread!!!
Hey moron, its “moran”If people on this board aren't smart enough to know that guys get hurt playing sports, then that's on them.
Nobody, and I mean nobody gets to go without medical clearance. So if Lee or anyone is medically cleared, they're good to go and that's all there is to it.
If something happens after that and you question the decision from your couch, quite frankly you're a moron. Athletes of today are babied like no other time in history, so if cleared, game on.
For god sake, can we please give the RS thing a rest? TnT know what they’re doing, and every move is made in the best interest of the kids. Nobody here sees practice everyday, nobody here knows intricate details of injuries and rehab. Furthermore, TnT will not let recruits influence his coaching decisions, nor should he. Obviously there are things with both kids that need to improve. He will not simply throw kids out there if he’s not comfortable with where they’re at physically or skill wise to appease us keyboard warriors, or a bunch of 15-18 year old kids. There are plenty of examples and counter examples that can be listed and we can debate all day, but in the end TNT know best.
Respectfully, that seems to go against what Tom said in his presser on media day about changing his philosophy in regards to recruits, and doesn’t jive with all the f*** PR stuff they’ve been putting out this year about having a BLAST. Tom as much as said the reason we’re in the hole we’re in right now is from not being reactive to what today’s recruits care about, and letting YOU KNOW WHO and YOU KNOW WHO and YOU KNOW WHO tear him down in living room after living room, because he had his head too far into just what was going on inside the confines of Carver’s dungeons. I actually think TnT are moving away from the blinders position you are articulating, and want to adjust the program’s approach to suit the needs of these highly developed blue chip recruits.
If Lee and Kemerer and Warner are any indication, they made a smart decision by reassessing their approach and being open to a new way of bringing along their talent. I’m frankly pretty amazed at how quickly they have turned the ship around and restocked the cupboard. TnT are combining their world-class room development (the growth we’ve seen in Gunther, Turk, Wilcke, Stoll) with a blue-chip friendly style, and it seems for all the world like that combo of old-School and new-School can put us right back on top and keep us there.

Did the same with Burak, they have a history if not starting guys fresh out of HSDidn't Iowa just start Stickley?
I know he's not a true true freshman, but still...

Sorry if I missed it, but do we know for sure Murin is genuinely attempting to make 133 this year? Or is that just a wish on our part? It’s “all in” or keep the shirts on. TnT can’t half ass this one. I know nothing of the situation, but as far as I can tell it’s a wish.Sorry if I missed it, but do we know for sure Murin is genuinely attempting to make 133 this year? Or is that just a wish on our part?
Boy, he got owned on bottom at the IC Duals, as much as I hate to disagree with you, Chief.Sticks will be just fine.
From what I know, I think that is mainly just a wish and we are hoping he is making the cut down there. But, he did say something before the season started about maybe going 133. And I think the main reason everybody is hoping for this and sees a chance is because on the weigh in sheet for IC Duals Max weighed like 139.6 or something. Which hopefully meant he is slowly going down through his descent plan.Sorry if I missed it, but do we know for sure Murin is genuinely attempting to make 133 this year? What are you talking about? Its irrelevant whether TNT know best concerning discussing it on this board. This board is exactly for hashing over every decision and overanalyzing anything. That's what we do. Fans will be fanatical, and we know none of the decisions for the team will be made by us.For god sake, can we please give the RS thing a rest?
