2025 World Team Predictions

New ? I have been funny around here for awhile now . You lost me who went from 174 to 184 to 197 now 97kg? Brooks was #1 182 lb coming out of HS. He went 174 at some college opens while in HS. But he never wrestled 174 in college. I assume that's who you're talking about. I think he will be 92kg 203lbs this year
What’s Nate Jackson’s trajectory since freshman year?

Nick Lee may not be done at 65. I have heard him say in interviews he wrestles more now that he is a coach than when he was not a coach. And Sanderson has also said he was hired in an intent to get younger in the coaching staff of a sport where the coaches are active participants in practice, i.e. he rolls a lot.

Not to mention the PSU guys that did worse up a weight.

Gulibon?

Bartlett? If the "team" had some secret supply of steroids - why wouldn't Bartlett have been on a cycle and been successful up a weight?
Bartlett was wrestling up a weight with the intent to go down. He was never looking to get bigger/go up.

Now thats one I'm very familiar with he was 170 his SR of HS. He was uncommitted in February of his Senior year. A friend of mine son wrestled at Indiana and we told Goldman about Nate and he went and got him. Watched Nate grow up in the sport as a youngster. He was 184 as a SR at Indiana. And he's a 92 kg guy now same as Brooks. Don't tell Iron he will say he's on roids to

ADD medicine is not growth hormone and it ain't a anabolic steroid. I can promise you, you'd be surprised at how many people in the general population and on the Hawkeyes roster have a prescription for "attention medicine."

Hell, my 9 year-old daughter is on adderall. It's a thing for this generation my guy.
ADD meds would definitely be a performance enhancer though. Its an amphetamine and doctors prescribe it like candy nowadays. When people use it there stamina is increased. Not to be internet doctor but you should just do some research and strongly consider alternatives for your daughter. There is a lot of research suggesting that it stunts the growth of children by suppressing appetite and is linked to some severe mental health issues.

Uhh "went 174 for some college opens" CORRECT!!! I believe 92kg also, but if he is up at 97KG well........

Look bellow for one and TWOOOOOO, when you constantly have "the pick of the litter" to choose from, you will eventually find a good one. THAT IS the great kralures formula!!!! It is NOT about him making great wrestlers, it is about him having 5X more to chose from so although he constantly screws up. It just does not matter as much.

YES!

YES, I also believe the one you mentioned has a serious heart health warning!!!

I guess we will just keep waiting for ALL these F*** st wrestlers to start racking up GOLDS on the world stage and Olympics!!! FUNNY how that has NOT happened yet isn't it????? Please see the champions they have had. 1, 2, 3, 4 and possible a FIVE time NCAA champion. How has this translated internationally?

LOVE to heard all the wannabe bandwagon fans explain to us about this???

Dangerous drug, I've seen adults get messed up on it in a fairly short time period.

I've seen adults get addicted to it and they act very similar to meth addicts.

You can also get an exemption and take it.

The formulation of many ADD drugs is very similar to crystal meth. But then them chemical formula for margarine is closer to plastic than to butter, by a long ways.

That said, I thought it was Sudafed that Brooks tested positive for, which is banned in almost all sports sanctioning bodies.

Yeah. you guys can all chill with the medical prognoses. None of you are my child's pediatrician. OBVIOUSLY, we are paying attention to any and all side effects.

My point is simply that Brooks failing a drug test for Vyvanse - for which he had an exemption, but was reported to UWW incorrectly - is hardly some smoking gun into PSU rampant steroid use.

We're all going to find out in the next 10-12 years if these guys were on anything - as UWW/Olympics keep samples and are constantly testing them for years on end. If I have to eat crow, I'll eat the whole damn bird. But until then, we can all chill with this weird azz excuse for losing.

Just like with all things related to medicine and healthcare, it needs to be handled thoughtfully by professionals. I know three people who have been impacted in a very positive way by being diagnosed and provided medicine for ADHD. As a person who struggled with organization and focus in school and in life, I wish I had sought help sooner. I still made grades (barely) and was a productive member of society, but it's always been a struggle.

For the "prescribe it like candy crowd", I sought help for over a decade with what I thought was undiagnosed ADHD. I wasn't doing so for the sole purpose of being medicated, but I can tell you from experience that every doctor I have spoken to about this was very averse to jumping straight to medication. I took courses, tried diets, meditated....anything to make progress. This single most impactful thing that has happened was finally being prescribed medicine. It's hard to explain the shift from having every thought, to do, deadline, concern, worry, insecurity pile up in your head all the time for as long as you can remember, to then feeling a distinct feeling of complete calm focus. Feeling "normal" for the first time. Yes people will seek it and abuse it, but that is true for so many things in life and doesn't mean it isn't useful for certain people.

I can't speak to if it has performance enhancing abilities (not an elite athlete) outside of allowing someone improved focus, but my gut would be that it doesn't make a d*** bit of difference in a wrestling match.

thank you IB. I come here hoping that you have posted some craziness for my entertainment. Like babies, puppies, chocolate and grandchildren, you never disappoint. Thank god you are not Tommy Davito in Goodfellas (I amuse you?!?)

Millions of people argued until they were blue in the face that steroids can't help you hit a homerun also. There's a reason the substances in questions are banned.

So, I just saw a license plate a little while ago. It was "ADDDHD"

And it was a bright lemon-yellow Ferrari convertible down here in Sarasota.

And yes the driver was a bit "antsy", weaving in and out of traffic, trying to get one car length ahead in the next lane.

Fair enough. As someone who takes a similar substance, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I don't disagree documentation should need to be provided given the nature of the medicine, I just don't think it would make a material difference in anything outside of maybe the Mathletes.

Gobblin, it's clear a very bad experience involving these drugs has affected your life, and I am really sorry to hear that.

I appreciate that very much…. Went through some dark times in our family because of it.

I also very much appreciate and am happy that you found something to help you as a critical thinking, functioning adult with a fully matured frontal lobe.

I wasn't saying your child shouldn't take it. Do what a trusted medical professional tells you to do. My youngest one had to take various ones from third grade until his mid-20s. He tried several times to ween himself off them, with varied results. The side effects were difficult to deal with; ticks, sleeplessness, lack of appetite, etc. but they did help with his concentration. It's weird how a stimulant has the opposite effect on people with ADD/ADHD.

If they're not catching it now, they won't catch it later unless it's steroids, they'll deteriorate in their 40s or 50s, but they have so many ways to mask PEDs these days, you might never catch them with testing. You can thank cyclists for that. They figured them all out 30 years ago. They only get caught when they're careless or over-using. They never caught Lance Armstrong, the French just bullied and harassed him into confessing.

Been/going through similar things with other substances and family members. It's truly a brutal experience for everyone involved and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
