Just a guess here. He probably talked with one of the on air personalities casually about it, and he probably turned that into him having official talks with the networks.
In fairness, I think he mentioned possibly joining Newsmax. No comment there yet.

Multiple Newsmax insiders also echoed similar doubts that Gaetz has any future as a cable-news host, with one source pointedly declaring, “Highly doubt it, highly.” A Newsmax spokesperson said in a statement to The Daily Beast: “We don’t comment on talent discussions or future programming plans.”
There’s always high school drama teacher, camp counselor, school photographer, girls gymnastics coach...lots of options.

I’d rather see him convicted for his crimes, sent to prison, raped, and dead of the butt AIDS - but that’s just me.
I'm actually pro-life, unlike most Republicans, so I'm good with everything else other than death coming to Gaetz

Possibly. . . or there was some more official talks and they found out about Gaetz being investigated for having sex with a teenager and thought. . . they probably should avoid that guy.
He's an idiot, a Trump sycophant and an embarrassingly poor representative of my district in Congress, but I don't know of any crimes he's committed.
