Trump Killing Rubio and Bush in Florida

This election is such a disaster. There are no good choices.

Trump is so, so bad. An unethical, ignorant, unqualified narcissist. The people that believe he would be a good POTUS are truly delusional, IMO.

And the other bad choices? Are you going to share your opinion on them? Maybe start with Hillary?

Edit to say that when I haven't heard Sanders make promises to the extent of the others. I think he is a helluva lot more honest than the rest of them and that is a rare thing in politics. Hillary is a known liar and I don't see much trustworthy from the Republican candidates either.

Jeebus...I quoted my own damn post...meant for Jan.

;) Bernie does seem pretty honest. Although saying he'll get us to a Single Payer Health Care System and Free Tuition for College........ I'm sure that's what he wants, but the environment in D.C. will not stand for it.

If you came over, worked hard to get ahead, and are contributing to society, why would you want someone to come in and ruin what you've built in the community by being lazy? People who don't know you aren't going to be able to distinguish between the two of you, so why would you want to invite that hardship?
Because you aren't an asshole?

I agree. I just said the same thing to a co-worker who brought up those two topics concerning Sanders. No way Congress will let him get those through.

Wanting people to pay their dues the same way you had to do makes one an asshole?
Wanting to make it hard for other people just because it was hard for you makes you an asshole.

If you want it to be hard for others when it wasn't hard for you - which is the case for most people who express this view -that's still another order of magnitude worse.

Okay, I worked hard to get my college degree. I had to write a lot of papers, and take a lot of tests. I especially hated "group projects" where inevitably, some slacker benefited from the others and got a grade he didn't deserve. But I earned it.

Now, imagine if some anti-testing movement got momentum, and teachers were supposed to evaluate students without stressful tests and term papers. "It's too hard on the kids, and grades are damaging to their self-esteem," the proponents argue. Students would just go to school and talk about topics and get a degree.

Would you be in favor of this?

If they get a good education, why not?

Just because walking 10 miles to school through 6-foot snow drifts in my bare feet made me the man I am today doesn't mean I want that for my kids or grandkids.

Back to the immigrants. Some filled out the paperwork, some didn't. Some stood in long, long lines, some butted in. But what they have in common is so much important than those distinctions. They wanted to be here and, in many cases, took risks, paid time and money to get here.

If we can make it easier to vote with your feet, while asserting some reasonable regulation over who comes and who gets to stay, I'm all for it. As for people who are already here, they're already here. Whether we like it or not, they are part of America. I would rather them participate fully than hide in the shadows.

There's already a path to citizenship. Hundreds of thousands are naturalized every year. There's nothing stopping them from getting in line like everybody else.
