So why aren't we hearing more about this?

http://dailycaller.com/2016/02/29/f...ised-former-kkk-member-sen-robert-byrd-video/

Despite mounting criticism for Donald Trump’s failure to disavow former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard David Duke’s support, Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton once heaped praise for late Klan leader Sen. Robert Byrd.

In a video uploaded to the State Department’s official YouTube page on June 28, 2010, Clinton commemorated late Sen. Byrd by saying, “Today our country has lost a true American original, my friend and mentor Robert C. Byrd.”

Robert Byrd filibustered the CRA of 1964 and supported Vietnam btw.

One obvious difference is that Byrd renounced his Klan affiliation when he was still in his 30s and apologized for being a part of it, for the rest of his life.

I wonder how many modern day youths will feel the same way about the NRA?

Byrd's KKK connection is disgusting to be sure, but they did happen when he was a young man and he quickly decided to leave the movement. He freely admits it was a mistake and says that, "...I was wrong...immature...Intolerance had no place in America... I apologized a thousand times ... and I don't mind apologizing over and over again. I can't erase what happened."

If you think an immature idiot barely out of high school is anything like the leader of the entire movement, then you're stretching quite badly.

But, but, but....that's different. I don't see Huey or any other resident libs coming to the Donalds defense when he said he disavows Dukes endorsement.

That sucking sound is the sound of a million libs sucking at the Hills teat. She can do no wrong.

Another big difference to add to this. While Byrd condemned the KKK and took responsibility for his actions, all Trump does is to stay silent and try to blame the ear-piece.

Sure did, it was that he backed away from the disavowement and lied about it a day later. Anyone hating on hill for dishonesty while supporting Trum s a fraud.

Spin it whatever way you want. But Trump refused to disavow Duke until everyone pressured him to do so. Just like with everything else, he flip flopped his position in the matter of 24 hours. If you got called out endlessly for blaming a bad ear-piece for not disavowing Duke, you would probably fold, too.

We get it, the whack job libs hate the Donald and will stop at nothing, no matter how petty, to excoriate him. Carry on.

I think he was past his 30s when he quit, and he was WELL past his 30s when he was still doing its work in the Senate.

You people are confusing yesterday's cross burning, lynching KKK with today's moderate, socially conscious, community active KKK. Big difference. Lots of KKK guys I know referee midnight basketball leagues and hold car washes and bake sales for charity.

This who Hillary admires....
I shall never fight in the armed forces with a negro by my side ... Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.

Don't forget to add the cons to this post. The Republicans also think Trump is a major POS.

All of which Byrd apologized a thousand times for. He dropped these beliefs over half a century ago.

As opposed to Duke, who still gets off on white supremacy today.

Sure. I would too if I was trying to get into office.

Sure he did, and him getting into the political landscape had nothing to do with that. At least Duke stayed honest.

What does Duke have to do with anything? I'll paraphrase the black guy they interviewed on MSNBC- " David Duke crawls out from under a rock once every 4 years."

And Byrd may have disavowed the KKK but did he truly give up on them? After all, he was a Dem and interested in keeping blacks from being integrated into white society. I think that it is pretty evident he was of the mindset that blacks should still be enslaved.

By the way, this is a person Hillary really looked up to. A known and ardent racist.

We got it. You think that a former and long deceased racist, who apologized for being a racist decades ago and long before Hillary ever knew him, is the same as one of the biggest racists in America endorsing Trump today.

Not sure I agree with your logic. But we all get where you stand.

Actually Huey, I'm trying to make a point which apparently you can't grasp. Who gives a shit? So what if David Duke endorsed Trump? Apparently only the whack libs and media, because David Duke just doesn't matter.

Well Duke definitely has some points when he talks about Jewish Control of certain things. Even the bad guy is correct at times. That's a truth you need to understand. Just like you idolize Obama. The truth is that you idolize someone who has authorized murder, death, taken away rights, handed more money to Wall Street, etc.

For someone who doesn't give a shit, you sure do seem hot and bothered in this thread.

Jewish control of things?...

Jewish control of things?...
Hollywood, Media, they are all over positions in government. Not to mention the connection between the Zions of Israel and the upper levels of our own elites. Americans are the only people in the world who are ignorant to this. Ask anyone else who doesn't come from our country if they agree and I can guarantee you they will.

Senator Byrd had a long time to make his changes maybe we should wait longer than 5 days to see how Trump does on this issue.

Need a thread soon about Margaret Sanger. Hillary got an award with her name on it. And her views from a century ago would be racist today.

Still valid, dude. It's why I will never support Lincoln. He looked up to Washington and Washington owned black people.

Again. Trump needs longer than 5 days to condemn the KKK? Anybody else wouldn't need 5 seconds.
Stick the party line. Defend Byrd for being a KKK member well into his time in government but vilify Trump because he didn't answer a question right.

Please. It's an apples to oranges comparison to try getting Trump off the hook for being to wimpish to admit that the KKK is a POS organization. The dude is a joke. Get over it.

But it's OK to bring up the arrest of Trump's father in 1927.....before Trump was even born, to somehow prove Trump is racist.

Is "not even born" not young enough for you?

Hypocrite.

So, wearing the white sheet is not as bad as taking 5 days to disavow David Duke's endorsement.

Got it.

It will be ok if Trump starts now he can get in the magical 1,000 apologies before the election.
