Trump's team openly fires women in the name of DEI

Better get down there and search for some testicles.
Is that what defines a woman? Not saying you're wrong, just asking.

She has 30 plus years of experience and was unanimously confirmed. Of she wasn't qualified she shouldn't have been confirmed, yet all republicans did. This isn't an RFK or a Pete Hegseth situation.
I wasn't speaking to this case in particular, just a general statement since your post was also referencing a phase we are in.

I think you gotta admit, on some level at least, there is an appealing compatibility between being fired for DEI and being hired for DEI, if that was the case 🤷‍♂️.

and of course...she was only hired because of DEI efforts
Pretty sure I didn't say "she was only hired because of DEI."

Did I allow for the possibility, yes. Also, if she was fired for malfeasance, including the implementing DEI, then that's ok by me.

I know. Meritocracy ... it's a strange new world.

Well unless you are just making stuff up, what the article showed is that she wasn't fired because she was a dei hire. She was fired because she focused on dei in her hiring policies rather than things the new administration deems more important.
Maybe stop believing the people who are constantly lying. If it’s coming from Fox, it’s 50-50 at best it’s true.

The fact that she is "uniformed" and the article states her bad performance.

"But yeah its only because she's a woman"

How do you implement DEI? What is that? Are you saying she hired underqualified women?

I guess I can appreciate the Socratic method you employ here ... but you're being pretty silly actually.

You have raised this question before, "what is DEI?" I don't get what you don't get. DEI is the Left's darling, what don't you understand?

You guys throw out DEI constantly, but I have no idea what DEI is. When I ask you what it is you deflect. No one who promotes inclusion or fairness says this is a DEI program. Its the same thing as woke. What is woke? Not sleeping?

So….was she fired for being bad at her job or because of her sex? What evidence exists to support or counter each claim? Meh, who cares. Let’s playground it!

Her tenure has been clouded by the service's investigation into sexual assault at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and a subsequent cover-up of that review, known as Operation Fouled Anchor.
She became commandant in 2022. The incidents happened between 1980-2000. The investigation began in 2014. The coverup occurred during the Trump Administration.

You guys?

Your freaking side has been promoting "diversity" for decades now, more recently co-opted the term "equity", cuddled up to the term "inclusion", and then cobbled the three together to come up with DEI. How can you not know what DEI is?

My gosh, big companies like Ford, McDonald's, and Walmart are dropping their DEI programs. You need to familiarize yourself a little better I guess with what DEI is 🤷‍♂️.

You are nuts . . . My stance is most of those programs, are to create a fair, safe, and balanced environment for all people. No it is not to promote unqualified individuals, that is what those on the right have made it to be, and yes it is sad some entities feel the need to change their Policies and Procedures due to political pressure. I am not advocating hiring unqualified individuals never have. The thing is that didn't occur in this case. So yes please throw out DEI when it had to application to this firing. It just became an easy throw in term to try to justify and unjustifiable firing. End of story. If there is someone that is black that is equally qualified as a white individual or more, they should have an equal opportunity at a job, and not be hindered for the color of their skin or their sex. Currently that appears to be what Trump wants to do. So instead of trying to create an equal playing field, you have an upper hand if you are male and white even if you are the underqualified individual (ie RFK and Hegseth).

Oh, so you are for FSB and not DEI.

Call it whatever you like but meritocracy should always, always, always be the objective and not creating this fanciful "balance" you speak of. Should doctors and airline pilots be hired for FSB or by merit? Those are nice jobs, but how about jobs like brick laying? About 99% of brick layers are men, yet I hear no cry for "balance" here from the Left.

The only fair and efficient practice is best person for the job.

What’s the problem? She’s fired and it’s their right to do so. People get fired every day. Whine is all you lefties can do.
She’ll live and someone will be happy there going to get the job. Geesh

I am not for meritocracy but create an even playing field. Hegseth and RFK have no where near the qualifications for their positions. They are getting it because they are white, male, and kiss Trumps ass. Please tell me how they are more qualified than this individual in the coastguard, I will go grab so popcorn. Just because you are male and white should not give you an upper hand in job opportunities. I could care less about bricklayers, if more women want to get into it, are good it, who cares. 10 years ago there were very few female wrestlers. It is now one of the fastest growing sports. You do know in most cases in the local gyms, the girls are wrestling the boys, and generally holding their own. I really don't know where you are going with this? Best person for the job great. Then Trump, Hegseth, and RFK should be no where near the positions they have.

the people cheering on pete hegseth as secretary of defense are here to lecture everyone on the importance of meritocracy

LOL
People get fired all the time for doing a shitty job. If PH does a shitty job, he should get fired, as well.

It's about time the public sector started to be run a lot more like the private sector. It's a big part of the reason Trump won.

You know I bought some Himalayan Gold Popcorn with coconut oil at Costco last week. Pretty darn good! ;)

Anyway, if you're for a level playing field then good! Give everyone a fair chance and let the best person win the position. But of course, that is what meritocracy means.

In the case of Trump he was first elected exactly because he was an outsider with a fresh perspective without binding political ties. Likewise, imo, Hegseth and Kennedy were nominated for their bold fresh approaches which are strictly in opposition to the current bureaucracy in place. These are candidates selected to contravene what is in place, to shake shit up like DEI in the case of Hegseth.

Trump has selected plenty of women, btw, like Bondi, Noem, Nesheiwat, and Stefanik who are all pretty good looking which is, of course, very important for female positions ;).

Finally, I don't know why you don't want to apply your FSB (DEI) to the Coast Guard but not to brick laying? Shouldn't brick layers be at least 50% women? Ya know, balance (diversity)?

How did she do a shitty job? The complaints I have heard are DEI (not true) , and investigation that occurred prior to her term, and then immigration what she has nothing to do with.

Holy Shit . . . you admit they are not qaulified but they are qualified because of fresh ideas? These are not qualified individuals shove your opinions and move on you just showed you have no argument. As to coast guard or bricklaying, it doesn't matter how many there are, if there are 2% of bricklayers that are female and qualified and good, then all 2% should be employed. This isn't a difficult concept. 1% shouldn't be employed because 50% were not allowed to get a position because they were female.

Regarding RFK, not promoting vaccinations will cause a major outbreak at some point, and he will get all the hell that he deserves when it happens.

This might be a little too nuanced for you but I'm NOT holding that against you.

They are precisely qualified because they have not been entrenched in the failing bureaucracies of the DOD, DOH, and the FDA. This is a no more business as usual approach. Heck, just look at the FDA which has rubber stamped the thousands of toxic chemicals and additives of the big food companies for DECADES.

Total overhauls needed.

RFK is a proponent of LSD, taking testosterone and most believe has taken steroids which caused him to lose his voice (none of this is considered standard healthcare). Going after vaccinations - claiming its causing autism (its not), going after flouride, going after chemicals and fertilizer ( I am actually ok with this, but good luck with the ag economy), going more herbals rather than medications, going after the FDA. Yes I fully disagree with your stance as do most medical professionals. I can tell you this, one the following will happen.

1. Not confirmed
2. Confirmed and changes nothing
3. Confirmed changes a lot, and the system collapses

Those are the options. It is clear you have no medical knowledge and are easily brainwashed if you think RFK is quality candidate. The only reason he was nominated was because he made a deal with Trump to drop from being a 3rd party candidate, not due to his qualifications. The conversation will end here.

Lastly your argument is worthless, you say they are qualified not for what they know, but because they will upset the applecart. You are a moron.

Why would you care about sexual assault allegations?
A decades long military career flushed by Stephen Miller and Eloon on day one just so guys like you who get angry at accomplished women can feel a sense of satisfaction.
This will have a chilling, long reaching effect on recruitment and retention.

She served under Trump for 4 years. Why wasn't she fired then? Did she only go woke the last 4 years? Decades of service and dedication to protecting you, but, sure, flush her down the toilet without a proper review.
