You should probably read and understand history. Russia warned the west going back to Yeltsin and Gorbachev what would happen if NATO expanded. And Putin's point was that if NATO existed to counter the Soviet Union why was it still needed. Our own political incompetence made Russia an enemy. Do you really want to risk WW3 over the Ukraine, two corrupt countries, neither a democracy (although you lefties want to pretend the Ukraine is), it is just pointless for Americans to waste our arsenal and spend money for something of no strategic value.
