Lots of great films but want to recommend a couple that most have probably not seen. These are both on Monday.

Cry Havoc is the story of nurses caught in the retreat in the Philippines and often mentioned as one of the best war films actually made during the war -1944.
Three Came Homes is based on a true story and about a family in a Japanese concentration camp and the woman's "friendship" with the commander.

Appreciate the list. We have some running around to do this weekend, but I'll certainly check a couple of these out in downtime.

Thanks to all of those who served!

I am trying to catch snippets of Attack while the Cubs game is on. I am definitely going to watch Cold Blue and Cry Havoc.

I don't recall ever seeing Memphis Belle before, and I know I have not seen Cold Blue before. They are both excellent. Memphis Belle was stylized propaganda, but god dammit we made good propaganda in WW2.
As mentioned before in my thread on Jimmy Stewart's combat record in WW2, and my random lurking on Google Earth thread where I mentioned how you can still see air bases all over England, it's almost indescribable to think about the war effort. So many men and machines. Every machine hundreds of components. The engines, the wheels, the .50 caliber machine guns, and the crews who all had to be assembled and transported to England. The supply chain. The incredible logistics of hundreds of bombers taking off and assembling to fly across the Channel, and the raw courage of lining up in broad daylight and pushing on to your target.
Documentaries like this one are what give me hope for this country, still .

I've read the book Three Came Home and saw the movie. Both good. Don't know why he put "friendship" like that. Implying something?
