Yeah, watching PSU win their 10th title in 12 years was painful for me to watch. If you’re a PSU basketball fan you got to watch your team get eliminated then you switch over and watch RBY almost get majored. Rough night.

According to a lot of people on here it was boring and kept viewers away. Personally I thought the finals were great. Seeing UNC, MI, and Cornell in the finals was a lot of f**. So many great schools.Yeah, watching PSU win their 10th title in 12 years was painful for me to watch.
Whatever the reasone people were tuning out this year, they picked a bad time to leave. This year's tournament and finals were pretty entertaining.According to a lot of people on here it was boring and kept viewers away. Personally I thought the finals were great. What in the hell are you even talking about? Is it a coincidence that the highest numbers were in DesMoines? I don't think so. The powers that be should be fired for sending the championships to places that don't even have wrestling. I know, they're trying to grow the sport and let people that haven't seen it go. It doesn't work like that. Iowa, is wrestling. DesMoines should host on a regular basis like StLouis does.
Seems to me like all Iowa's duals should be televised on ESPN, but I may be biased.
There's a reason pro wrestling went the entertainment route. Actual wrestling only appeals to those that understand the grit and determination involved with it, and those that appreciate the athletes putting it on the line. They need to continue to make it more accessible to the actual wrestling fans. If you want to try to appeal to a wider audience, you need to do more personality profiles on the wrestlers themselves that make them more likeable or more hated to give the non-fan motivation to tune in. UFC had the same issues, but then created the reality show "The Ultimate Fighter" and suddenly guys peeing on each other's pillows made the casual viewer start to tune in and care about the fighters. Trying to draw the non-fan into wrestling itself will never work because they won't understand the appeal.
Picture it, "Iowa City Nightlife" on MTV featuring the Ferrari family. "Bringing the Shore and More". People would watch that and either hate them or love them and then might tune in to see them wrestle their matches to cheer them or cheer against them.
I heard a baseball fan say something similar about their new pitch clock and rules designed to shorten the games. He said something along the lines, of "they keep changing things at the suggestion of non-fans to try to make them watch, but they're never going to watch no matter what they change because they aren't fans."
NCAA 1st round didn’t even make the list?

As a baseball fan, I actually like the pitch clock. Eliminates a lot of needless actions from both the pitcher and the hitter. In the end, a quicker pace a play fosters better defense and a better game. Some of the other rules, not so much. So translate to wrestling - more action generally equals more entertainment and with that, hopefully more fans. There's a reason pro wrestling went the entertainment route. You’re absolutely correct. I’m enjoying the shorter games this season. It only takes my Twins two hours to get shut out now instead of three.🤣As a baseball fan, I actually like the pitch clock.
