Tweet From Lincoln Sports Guy

It's a reference to recently fired AD Shawn Eichorst's statement at the time he fired Bo Pelini in 2014.

It was a slap in the face toward Iowa by the AD at the time and I'm sure the entire football team took exception to it then and uses it as motivation to this day.

I say thank you Shawn Eichorst for those inspiring words. Just hope every opponent insults Iowa to inspire and motivate them every year by every team.

Nebraska is currently playing a bad brand of football. Mediocre talent on the lines, they can't compete against Iowa Wisconsin and are now 50/50 shots against northwestern and Minnesota. They get pushed around by the big ten elite.

Yep.

Nebraska needs to slow down and take time to build the program back the right way. It's going to take time to build depth. Drill over and over three basic but fundamental things:

Blocking.
Running.
Tackling.

Nebraska doesn't get to be "Nebraska" because of the name or any history. Huskers can be successful again, but they have to work for it, not just expect it.

Their message board fans are separated from reality. Their fans that attend games are fine.

This said, I sat on the 50 at Memorial Stadium, and although friendly, some of their take on the head coaching vacancy, and especially on the finances that are part of it, are completely removed from reality. One guy was telling me Iowa was lucky to have B1G money. While that is true, it is more true for Nebraska.

Really everyone is lucky that TV money is what it is

You are exactly right. Now pass this on to the UNL fans, Omaha/Lincoln Media and the Trolls on this board.

So, Frost goes to Nebby and has 9-3 8-4 seasons with some higher some lower. Will Nebby fans be ok with that?

IMO they must return to those things to succeed. They won't likely ever return to their 90s glory years but can compete for division and occasional big ten titles like Wisconsin does if they embrace those things. If they go to

Spreading
Throwing
Outscoring

They will continue to fail. Even tough Frost has coached fast pace offenses, I think he is smart enough to know Nebraska has to embrace power football too. Someone like Bielema would also understand this, but their fans want no part of him.
