Two Deeps/Game Notes for Iowa at Minnesota

this is a crossroads sort of game... we're gonna find out what kind of season we have with this game against Minnesota.
obviously we have no chance* of winning the West... but we still have an opportunity at a 10+ win season... and something to build on for next season.
I have serious concerns about our special teams... as does everybody else, I'm sure...
but the one element I will be looking for on Saturday is passion.
does this team possess the spirit to compete at a very high level, and win this football game?

Barrington Wade in at OLB instead of Epenesa... interesting. Also, sticking with Stanley instead of Epenesa. Rastetter still the punter despite Epenesa showing promise...

Groeneweg returning punts after a less than sterling day against Wisky is a bit of a surprise. I really can't recall a punt returner fair catching the ball at the 3 yard line at any level. Maybe Tracy should get a chance.

Jordan Westerkamp did it against us before.

Or you can watch the first 5 minutes of our game against Debby in 2017. Blocked punt. ISM steps out at the 2 yard line on kickoff. Lots of errors, and yet we overcame them and dominated. Just a reminder to those who say Iowa must be mistake-free to win. Nope. Iowa has to overcome to win. Just like every other team/athlete.

Despite the mistakes in the Wisconsin game, seems the punt return team is really close to breaking one. Think we will see it happen soon.

Following up on Hankins, Phil Parker was on the Hawk Central radio show last night and said Hankins still hasn't practiced this week, but thinks he will be able to play, at least some, on Saturday.

Play him in the first quarter until the game is out of reach for MN, then give him a rest
