Deputies received a report at 10:45 p.m. of a large party taking place at a rural rental property southwest of Fullerton, Nebraska. The person who reported the party said there was loud music and several minors consuming alcohol at the property, according to a social media post by the Nance County Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies arrived on scene they allegedly found more than 100 people and at least 20 vehicles on the property. Several partygoers fled on foot and in vehicles when deputies arrived.

Eight vehicles ended up crashing into the ditch along Valley Road near the property, or became stuck on the property itself. Two deputies suffered minor injuries when they were struck by vehicles.

Deputies were able to contact several of the partygoers who were all identified as being under 21 years old. It was discovered that the property was rented by an 18-year-old on the Airbnb app.

Investigators estimated damage to the inside of the property to be in excess of $3,000, including graffiti on the interior walls. Several headstones in a nearby cemetery also were damaged by vehicles as partygoers fled from the area.
Deputies issued more than 30 citations to minors for allegedly being in possession of alcohol. Hundreds of alcoholic beverages were found on the property, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The Merrick County Sheriff’s Office and the Howard County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Nance County Sheriff’s Office at 308-536-2452.

I could have saved a lot of property damage and stupid behavior if they called me.
The partying teens or the property owners?

It still amazes me that underage kids/adults think they can pull something like this off and not get caught. It’s one thing to do sh!t like this 30+ years ago, but it’s just too damn risky now. We used to have house parties and dirt road parties all the time. 30-100 kids was pretty common. But we didn’t F up people’s property. Why? Because we don’t want to ruin our chances to have the next party. Kids, it’s not the 70’s and 80’s anymore. Trying to pull off a large party like this is just asking for legal trouble.
