Tyler Cook to Australia

Just saw that Tyler Cook signed with the South East Melbourne Phoenix of the NBL in Australia. Probably a good move to head overseas as he was stuck in the G League all last season.

Of course, this sent me down a rabbit hole - the NBL is sponsored by Hungry Jacks, which apparently is what Burger King is called in Australia.

As always, that's what this board is for - dropping overseas fast food knowledge on our fellow Iowa fans.

A quick goodle search told me that non resident players make anywhere from 120k-250k in the NBL Austrailia. Not bad for a couple months of work. Good for him.

Steve Carfino parlayed a nice professional career there into a broadcast career as well. Looks like he is coaching now. Lots of ways to make money on this green earth.

Melbourne is a beautiful city. One of my favorite places to visit. Yes the flight is lengthy but if you are flying a 777 up front, not too bad. Trying to get my wife to go to Australia with me in the next year or two. I truly enjoy the people down under.
