I don't have details, but confident enough after some calls, Tyler Sash has passed away. More details as they come

Very sad news. He was one of the great hawk eyes. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends during this difficult time.

The dude was a great Hawkeye and one of the great players of those solid late 00's teams.

Just shocking.

Damn..........this sucks! I enjoyed watching him every time he had a Hawkeye jersey on! RIP #9 - Thoughts and prayers to the family!

I called Tyler picking off psu to help us win when the starter was kicked off the team, and since then he was my favorite hawk. Glad he got a ring. Sad he passed, regardless of reasons

@scottreister: Just confirmed terrible news Tyler Sash has passed. Found at home 8 this morning by family member who came to walk dog. Can't confirm cause

Autopsy set for Wednesday. Must not have been 100% apparent what the COD was?

Maybe it's automatic at that age regardless

We fought in many great battles together. Side by side. Don't wish that upon anyone or any family. Beyond words. Always a Hawk. Rest easy

Angerer tweeted out about it. They apparently weren't exactly friends, nice to see Pat say something though.

This is terrible news, can't believe it. What the heck is going on in this world. Thoughts and prayers to the family.

Hate hearing this. A great Hawk. Ironic that the other safety on that '09 team was Brett Greenwood.

I'm being told it was suicide. Can anyone else confirm that?

Julian Vandervelde tweet "Damn man. You never know the demons someone else is facing. It's a sad day when you lose a brother. R.I.P Tyler Sash."

"Sash’s death is under investigation by the Oskaloosa Police Department, Mahaska County Coroner and State Medical Examiner’s Office. No foul play is suspected.

An autopsy will be performed Wednesday by the State Medical Examiner’s Office and more information will be available after the autopsy."

That was from Marc Morehouse's article.

One of those special players who just had a nose for the ball.

It was just exhilarating how he would seemingly come out of nowhere to bust up a play or make a pic.

RIP, TS

Guess I meant seems like there is more and more bad news, bad things happening in the world that its scary and sad.

Nothing is that much worse than it used to be as far as normal, every day violence (actually is down the past 20 years). Media and social media amplifies everything now.

I was listening to Sound Off on Saturday and they were talking about Tyler Sash previously calling into the show and the hosts not believing it was really him. Never would have thought that just a few days later he would have passed away. Its always a tragedy to lose a great Hawkeye...My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

Heard from someone that on the call-in show last week that someone named 'Tyler Sash' was trying to call in and the person screening the calls, who probably deals with dozens of prank callers and angry/bitter callers every show, didn't allow his call to go through, thinking that it wasn't really Tyler Sash.

One of the guys doing the call-in show then later got a text from Sash saying that it was him trying to call in, and even though the host offered him to call back, he never did.

That's kinda sad to hear.

Whoops, looks like we posted the same thing at the same time.
