UCLA Game Attendance

I was thinking the other day there might be more Hawkeye fans in the crowd than UCLA.

There attendance is EMBARRASING.

Switched planes. Then no runway in Burbank. Still sitting in Phoenix
Had noon dinner plans at Santa pier.

Minus their last two road wins, which has generated at least a little bit of positive buzz for the program (by UCLA standards anyway), Ol' Doodle would have agreed that it would likely be 50+ percent black and gold in the stands.

Now that UCLA appears to have a little fight in them, Doodle expects their fans will show up in relatively decent numbers. But it will still be a heavily Iowa-infused crowd...stupid, dumb, idiotic and also stupid Friday gameday notwithstanding.

American Airlines?

They suck.

The last time I was in the Rose Bowl, we got manhandled by Washington.
And I have to work tomorrow. Even with a direct flight from DFW, I don't think I'd make it for kickoff.

I had planned to go, but am still recovering from rotator cuff repair. (Unlike Phil Parker, I'm a normal patient.) If it were two weeks later, I'd be able to drive down.

UCLA averaged 47,950 @ home last year. The Colorado game drew 71, 343. Can Iowa beat that? Friday night slow might make it tough.

I’m here with a few friends and family. Being here to see the Hawks in a Rose Bowl game is on my bucket list, but I think this is as close as I’m going to get.
