When Sully took over as QB !, the UCLA game was the one I had down as the game where we will see. Now UCLA is coming off a road win at Nebraska and it was already a short turn around heading out west after a pretty rowdy night game in Kinnick. We will see how the team plays and responds this coming Friday.

I think the line will be Iowa -3 or maybe even less. Going to be a tough one.

Yeah, definite trap game. UCLA and USC are both enigmas. They look pretty good one week and awful the next. UCLA’s beat-down at home against IU isn’t looking so bad now, especially seeing how IU demolished MSU in East Lansing. (Can’t believe I’d ever say I was glad we didn’t have IU on our schedule.)

It does worry me that Kirk stopped putting the best interests of the football program first about four years ago. But even Kirk won’t trot out Cade Friday night.

ucla is a bad team. Beating the fuskers didn't suddenly turn their season around. But, even a bad team can get a mini bump during the season. This could be theirs.

True. It was 7 years ago, not 4, that he hired an incompetent, completely unqualified person for OC just because he was his son.
Yea. I felt like Brian was all right his first three or four years. He obviously wasn’t qualified but he wasn’t awful. He started to become historically awful in 2021 and he’d still be coordinator if Beth wasn’t in charge.

I’m looking forward to hearing if Pat Hardy thinks it will be interesting to see who wins that game. He thought it would be interesting to see who won all of the games Iowa played so far, so it’ll be interesting to see what he says.
Why would Cade ever play again unless it’s 40-0? Even King Kirk won’t try that.
UCLA is playing much better. Not many of the West teams are coming this way and winning. I know it was the Huskers (lol) but that’s a good win for them. I was much more confident before that outcome but still feel we’re a much more physical team.
UCLA is also VERY undisciplined. Their the kind of team that has talent, but if you punch them in the mouth and get up on them you can break them, see someone like Maryland....
C'mon, man. No need to exaggerate the JC-Stanzi saga. The W. Michigan game was '07; Stanzi had 4 total attempts as a Freshman that season and no one knew even who he was at that time. The only game Iowa actually lost due to KF being befuddling loyal to incumbent JC was at Pitt in '08.
KF's history of head-scratching QB decisions is bad enough without making stuff up.
Cade's ineffectiveness is obvious to the whole state of Iowa except for one person.

As for being hyperbole, why do you say that? It's hypothetical because obviously he can't just be inserted into the lineup here even though he's riding the pine at a winless shitty FCS school. But he was hands down the shittiest QB in D1 football last year. And the comparison was to the hands down shittiest OC in D1 football this decade. There are people here that posted Brian Ferentz still deserves to work here. That's a very apples to apples argument.
