It really isn't that different of an issue as your "illegals". Border security (or lack thereof) is trending in the wrong direction as is gun violence and overall availability of guns. I wouldn't mind practical steps to address both. That said, I won't make broad based generalizations making the exception sound like the rule in either case. I like to drive fast, but that doesn't mean speed limits aren't important. It also doesn't mean we should take cars away.

Stop investing all your time and effort trying to crack down on desperate people and keep them out of a 2000 mile long border and start arresting and imprisoning the people that employ illegal labor.
Some guy who even goes and finds illegals to help him move furniture one should be in prison for 2 years. Business owners who hire illegals should be in prison for 20.
