Just saw this on a Des Moines news wedsite...
After a school board vote on Monday, the school board voted to remain the smallest school in the conference and refused to accept an invitation to the Little Hawkeye conference.
They've apparently struggled for many years to be competitive in most sports and a survey indicated a majority of parents favored a move.
A school board member was quoted as saying they've been competitive in school choir, so need to stay.
Does he know judging there is subjective and not on an actual scoreboard???

Just looked, the Board wanted a guarantee that the Little Hawkeye would get to ten teams. Currently have seven.
That tells me the AD got in the ears of the Board and he didn't want to go through the work of scheduling four additional out of conference schools to get the maximum competition dates in multiple sports.
