Seems clear that this is a message to Iran.

Nice of us to let Israel use Americans as human shields.

How would you feel if you or your child, spouse or parent were among those sent on this mission?

I wouldn’t let them get involved in the war machine, so they wouldn’t be sent to Israel. Anyone who signs up for the war machine should not oppose deployment anywhere. It has been made quite obvious since ww2 that we send people on less than righteous missions and it may be required of you.

From my perspective israel offers america a reliable partner and a presence in the middle east which is vital. major rivals (chinese for sure) obviously want to shunt america out and curtail its ability to project power in that region. so they utilize their proxies (like iran) to generate turmoil. we have no choice if we are to stay relevant, a strong israel is in our interest. so depending on the immediate objective, for instance 100 personnel specifically to operate a specialized defensive system seems reasonable. but it should be temporary which i think it will be, i suspect the israelis aren’t looking for anything permanent.

Here's my latest conspiracy theory....

At this very moment, a Chinese sub is lurking off the coast of Iran in the northern Persian Gulf, armed with missiles China got from Iran. At a time of China's choosing, they will launch these missiles at Israel, especially targeting US personnel.

When that part of the world erupts into a larger war that distracts the US, China moves on Taiwan.

Simultaneously, Russia accelerates its invasion of Ukraine.

Alternatively, rewrite that script with a Russian sub lurking off Iran in the southern Caspian Sea. Same outcome: China moves on Taiwan and Russia accelerates in Ukraine.

How many fronts can we fight on at the same time?

Human shields? Is that how this system works? Pretty shitty one if that's the case.

i’m sure if chinese could they would but our presence in the ME probably is a deterrent and if things flare up like you suggest, it affects the chinese too who depend on oil from there via sea. unless of course they are ready already for 100% from a russian pipeline, which in turn is also interesting coz then russia has them by the balls

I strongly oppose the idea, but Israel is Master and the United States is Blaster. We’ll eventually spill our blood regardless of who is in the Oval Office.

I don't think we need personnel in Israel. I'd rather just have a big ass fleet ready to blow up most of Iran from a distance. No nation building, we just blow your shit up and leave.

Somebody's ass is getting drafted! lol Let's take all the biden voters and their kids first!! 🤡

Why not bring their personal here to train? Or have them meet in Iraq?
Because they are being attacked in 3 different directions. They don’t have the time or manpower to take months off in the U.S.

Did you actually say send Israeli troops to Iraq? Could you imagine the incoming fire, drones and suicidal attacks they would receive daily?

If you knew anything. Israel has their own trained anti-missile trained troops.

China wants to grab Taiwan before we are building all our own chips.

I think it would be impossible to say without knowing what Israel has planned against Iran. I believe most in the know would guess bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities is a real possibility. If that happens, the U.S. servicemen in strategic places in Israel is a real deterrent Iran has to ponder. Iran certainly doesn’t want the U.S. involved, so not killing US soldiers would be high on the list of any retaliation to Israel.

Don’t you think Putin has already been trying to accelerate in Ukraine for 2.5 years? What else is he going to do that he hasn’t done? Also, why do you think a unit deployed to Israel would impact combat readiness of our forces in the pacific?

If Iran is going to be phucked with we need to be involved, Iran needs to know that we are involved, and our involvement needs to make an impression,.. If this is going to happen it needs to become a learning moment for Iran.

Also,.. This wouldn't be happening if Joe was still on the ticket,.. He is free, pissed at his handlers, and prepared to do what he damn well pleases,... Refreshing.

Agreed on Russia and Ukraine. Russia isn't holding back it's army, we're seeing it do the best it can.

In the Middle East we have more than just the THAAD deployment. We sent a couple squadrons to airbases in the Persian Gulf recently. F-22s defending Israel aren't available to fight China over Taiwan.
