Utah State (4-1) of the Mountain West clobbered BYU last night, the same BYU team that beat Wisconsin in Madison not so long ago. Again, we see that "any given Saturday" still applies to most of college football.

Anyway, the BYU loss just makes Iowa's loss to the Badgers hurt that much more. And I don't imagine it makes Wisconsin feel too good either.

But at the same time, it should give us all some hope that, if Iowa takes care of business the way it should, the Hawkeyes could still win the West. Any given Saturday Wisconsin could lose...well, except maybe THIS Saturday. :D

Utah state is the best team in Utah and a top 20 team that no one talk about. They have NFL players on that team.. they gave Michigan state all they could handle
Don't know if they are better than Utah but they are a good team. They had a bye week and Byu was coming off a rough game AT Washington last week. Utah State jumped on them early and won the turnover battle 3-0 winning convincingly. Byu couldn't run on them.

Convinced Wisconsin was saving their gameplans for B10 play, and probably weren't motivated to play in the first place.

Also convinced we beat Wisconsin if they don't lose that game.

Which only proves that Wisconsin isn't some unbeatable juggernaut like most of the people on this board claim. It sucks we lost, but by all rights we gave the game away. Wisconsin may very well drop a game here and there.

I think Wisconsin is a solid 10-20th ranked team in the country. Predicting they will lose 1-2 more this year based on their tougher schedule.

The BYU game was effectively a "trap" game for the Badgers. They were likely looking forward to the Iowa game ... whereas BYU was still very motivated by the fact that they got slammed at home by the Badgers the prior year.

The Badgers are still not as good this year as they were last year - but they're still a decent team. I wouldn't read much into this transitive football logic.
