I'm a little surprised too but he is slow of foot. I believe Golden State was playing him at center in summer league. At least that's what he was playing the first game.with his shot making ability, his length, and shot blocking and rim protection abilities, I am surprised he's never broken through
What are his chances at actually sticking with the Warriors? Is it above 15%? I feel like this is a team he could actually fit with but I don't know the NBA nearly as well as many of you.
0%. He was a body for the summer league. Maybe some other team liked what they saw.
Cook?I think it's time for a TBT team with Iowa guys:
Dev
Jok
White
Kriener
Garza
Uthoff
Clemmons
Basabe

His window to make an NBA roster has got to be down to narrowest of cracks at this point.
Jarrod potentially reunited with third cousin Dean. A Kings legend and still in Kings management I believe.
Cool story chane…. Jason Reese is one of my all time favorite basketball 🏀 players from the great state of Iowa.I was traveling in Australia quite a few years ago and stayed at the house of a friend-of-a-friend for a night. The Aussie owner of the house asked where in the states I was from. When I told him I was from Iowa, he said, “Oh, you must know about Jason Reese then!” Being a basketball nerd, I did know about UNI’s all-time leading scorer.
He proceeded to tell me about how beloved players like Jason Reese and former Hawkeye Steve Carfino were in Oz and how so many foreign players who came to play Down Under ended up liking it so much that they moved there after their playing career was over.
So yeah, I could see playing in Australia being a pretty great gig.
Well, that wasn't what I thought you meant!Points. Mentions. Press. For Golden State

I was at UNI when Reese and the Panthers upset Missouri in the 1st round of the NCAA tournament. That was a really fun team to watch. VERY MUCH alcohol was consumed in Cedar Falls that day.Cool story chane…. Jason Reese is one of my all time favorite basketball 🏀 players from the great state of Iowa.

Weren't they both from....? which isnt heard from much in sports nowadays.I was at UNI when Reese and the Panthers upset Missouri in the 1st round of the NCAA tournament. Maurice Newby. I was in 6th grade and we got to watch it in the school lunchroom. I had Missouri going to the Final Four, so it busted my bracket. And the winning shot was made by..........? Weren't they both from....? which isnt heard from much in sports nowadays.

I was talking with one of the players from that team a few years ago and he said they had recently had a team reunion and Newby was one of the only ones that didn't come back and nobody really knew where he was.
*edit - looks like he is an assistant coach at WVU Potomac State College now.
I remember exactly where i was at watching that game. I also remember where i was when UNI kind of got the shaft in their next game against Minnesota.I was at UNI when Reese and the Panthers upset Missouri in the 1st round of the NCAA tournament. I read an article from the great Eldon Miller (who really put UNI hoops on the map) where he said the plan was to have Dale Turner (the PG) to create and either take it to the rack or kick it out to an open option.Maurice Newby.
