He attempted 12 shots last night in which 9 were threes and a couple of those came in garbage time.

It's ridiculous that your star player is only attempting 3 shots within 20 feet of the basket. He should be commanding the ball inside 15 feet and either taking it to the basket or hitting his short turn around jumper.

Look back to when we were playing well against good competition.

12/10 against ISU he attempted 20 shots which 8 were 3 pointers.
1/2 against Purdue he attempted 16 shots which only 3 of which were 3 pointers.
1/17 against Michigan he attempted 20 shots which only 4 were 3 pointers.

The past 4 games Uthoff has attempted at least seven 3s while shooting about 25%. Is it any surprise we are 1-3 in that stretch?

Right now I think it's mental with the team right now. Jok is the only one shooting with any consistency right now. Mikey G. is no threat at all, clemmons played much better the other night and we all know woodbury is not a threat but he needs to touch the ball more, it atleast forces the other team to collapse the defense and then he can find the open shooter. The other night he maybe touched the ball 3 times on the block and one 2 of those he found a cutter or shooter and we scored both times.

Uthoff just needs to hit a few mid range shots to get his confidence back and attack the rim.

I was saying this same thing. When he touches the ball, good things happen with backdoor cuts and guys moving to get open. I realize he isn't a "big" threat to score, but w/the right match-up he can. The other night Iowa settled for jumpers and that's why they lost. Wisky sagged off our slasher/attacker guards and forced them to shoot. They didn't reverse the ball at all and didn't play inside out.

Utoff has to start demanding the ball in the block as well. Wisky was switching screens and he had several mis-matches but he didn't take advantage of them. He hung out around the 3pt line for some strange reason. HE needs to start close and work his way out. Lately he has been looking for the "kill" shot and taking bad 3pointers.

Uthoff is soft. Teams started playing him tough and he disappears for long periods of time.

Iowa lost a lot more than a game against Maryland. Uthoff went into that game a white-hot POY candidate with a ton of confidence and came out of it a shadow of his former self. Never seen a player come crashing down to earth as far and fast as Jarred Uthoff.

i think he can say goodbye to Pro
Honestly what makes him a capable NBA player? He's got one speed at which he plays.

The other thing is its kinda funny watching him. When things are going good, you could say he's even - keeled and when he's playing like dogsh** he looks disinterested or dumbfounded.....and it's the exact same look on his face both times.

Not that he was ever all that clutch before this season, but he has pretty much allowed himself to disappear in many of their losses, if not all of them, particularly when it matters late in games. Nobody cares if Uthoff scores 24 points and Iowa is still down by 5 and he doesn't score in the final 10 minutes of the game.

He looked like a special needs kid when he first got pulled that game. I've never seen a former stud look so lost. He went from all-american to getting schooled at the Fieldhouse by some dirtball from West Liberty. What a waste.

Well we also sucks at feeding the post in a position to score. A few times we decided to not pass the ball inside to Uthoff when he was posted up today.
