Vikings Should Sign Marshall Koehn On Monday

There will be some free agent kickers Agents speed dialing Mike Zimmer tonight and flights being arranged.

I would be STUNNED if Carlson is there on say Wednesday (don't know the NFL cuts timeline or if there is one). He can go have lunch with their last Choking drafted kicker in Blair Walsh.

Marshall Koehn

LOL at the Vikings 'brain trust'.........Marshall could have added 25 yards to those kicks and nailed them.
Distance isn't the problem, he pushed all three wide right. He made a 57 yarder in pre-season. Koehn would be an improvement.

Vikings have a long storied tradition of kicking woes. It's kinda funny if you're not a fan. Although Anderson cost my guy Cunningham a ring.

I hope they leave his ass in Green Bay. Terrible. Pro kicker missing 3 field goals in a game

That's a popular myth. Everybody remembers the one play. Blaming a kicker who makes every kick of the entire season except one is ridiculous.

Cunningham was responsible himself with a fumble at the end of the first half that handed Atlanta a touchdown. The Viking defense folded up late in the game and Cunningham failed miserably in OT given not 1 but 2 possessions to win the game.

Blaming Anderson is BS

Browns already signed a new kicker, Greg Joseph

Zane Gonzalez — who has had the season nightmares are made of — will be sent packing. We have never heard of Jospeh. He is an UDFA out of Florida Atlantic, where he converted just 69.5 percent of his field goal attempts in Conference USA. We wish the Browns good fortune.

Koehn didn't have a flawless preseason either. He missed a PAT that may have been the decider in his positions battle with the Giants.

Yes, I'm tooting my own horn here, and it sounded like Bailey was in Minnesota early today taking a physical (not 100% sure on that, but what I understood listening to KFAN a good share of the day). So there almost had to be communication made last night. They didn't jack around. Good job.

Zimmer tells it like it is and doesn't piss around, I like that. Treadwell next on high alert. Look for a demotion, they can't afford the cap hit cutting him.

It would be great to see Marshall get a shot, but as we see in the NFL they do not mess around giving inexperienced kickers many chances.

I was at Lambeau on Sunday, and I really felt for that young man knowing I’d just witnessed someone lose his job—and maybe his dream of being a professional football player.

Cousins looked like Tom Brady or Joe Montana in the second half yesterday. It is too bad some kicker had to ruin it. Treadwell needs to go sooner than later, as he also did a lot to cost them the game.

Awful, and Zimmer will not stand for it.

Ever since Gary Anderson missed that playoff FG against Atlanta...

Plenty of others had that dream die, typically in Training Camp or far sooner than that and on with real life like the rest of us. Carlson waited to choke in front of the entire country.

I'm sure he's a fine young man, but he got a dose of reality when you don't do the job you are hired to do. Doesn't mean his dream has died either, but a contender looking for a kicker isn't going to take him in with his horrible resume in a very short career. He missed 2 indoors in pre-season with no pressure when he was given the job already that week too. 5 misses in near perfect conditions in that few attempts will get you cut in a lot of places.

NFL = Not for Long when you don't back it up.

Honestly, if he just makes the 35 yard chip shot to win the game, he's still got a job today even though he's stunk to that point.
He didnt, he gone.

What’s your point? That I shouldn’t feel badly for him?
