Vince McMahon

For the hardcore wrestling fan. Here’s a good video on what the Documentary gets wrong or glosses over.

In the end if you’re a casual WWE viewer you’ll probably enjoy it. If you’re a Vince fanboy you’ll hate it. If you’re a Vince hater(tumorboy). You’ll think it’s a WWE puff piece.

They did a decent job. They did skip over or put little into many controversies. They could have spent a whole episode or more on those.

Thank you for the insight. I remember being pumped for the Florida Gators doc and was letdown by it.

Loved the first episode. My favorite era of wrestling was the early 80's. It was more tongue and cheek and over the top. It got to be too serious and "hardcore". Totally forgot about the TNT talk show with Vince, I've been watching old clips and I'm real nostalgic for it. I can't remember the last time WWE was this "silly".

Here to believe RMMS and Elizabeth are both gone and VM is still here. Unlucky us.

It's fun to watch for nostalgia but pretty much everything I've seen so far has pretty much all been on Tales from the Ring episodes and other shows.

I do love all the wrestling docs that have come out in the last few years. I came of age right in the heart of the Attitude Era so it was such a big part of my childhood. Didn’t realize how big of a POS Vince really was until I was an adult though.

I worked at WWE (remotely) for a good part of a year during the pandemic. It’s a really weird company. Publicly traded, but run like a family business. It wasn’t for me, so I bolted.
Ex-writers says it’s more of a cult than anything. The Owen Hart death shows you how bad it can be. The harness release they used only required 5 pounds of pressure to unbuckle on the front. How they were able to keep the show going and prevent any police investigation is crazy. Vince pushes hell or high water.
Vince and Kevin Dunn didn’t even want to do a tribute show the next RAW. They wanted to act like it didn’t happen. Russo had to threaten to quit on the spot for it to occur.

I wish Savage, Henning and Rude were still alive today. They would have been awesome for a wrestling podcast.

This was a fantastic doc. We all knew hes a creep but that was a wonderful nostalgic documentary.

I now have totally started watching random WWF shows from the early 90s on Peacock and I'm having a blast.

Doink!

I was only into WWF for a few years in the mid 80's with Hulk, macho man, etc and even that I was young and never a diehard. I was clueless about how the WCW and then the buyout and all of that came about prior to watching but def entertained throughout and am almost finished. Episode 6 that highlights when Trump was involved was very interesting. Crazy how some of the same quotes and rhetoric DT45 uses when he was acting for WWE is EXACTLY the same things he said when running and as president. It makes many of us reiterate what we already knew about Trump and more importantly his base and those that support him.

Just watched Episode 5 the other night after barely stomaching Episode 4. It is just a trainwreck on so many levels. He is so unlikeable and the lengths he goes to try and succeed are despicable. He makes his whole family look like clowns too. That said, I would take his daughter on a long trip to Pound Town.

The only person I have sympathy for in his circle is Shane McMahon. Of that entire clan he’s the only class act.

How were you let down by it?
The whole Gators doc ended up being like season recaps you would watch on BTN or SEC network. Did they even touch many of the controversies?

Part of why a lot of docs suck now is that the main subject will only sit for the doc if they get edit ability or are producing it themselves. So you end up with boring buff pieces. Did enjoy the Vince one quite a bit because it wasn’t produced by him.

I noticed in the documentary her boobs went from average to ginormous.

The night Owen died in St. Louis. Me and a couple buddies were watching the ppv. I remember it cutting away when he fell and we all could tell something went very wrong. We all felt like not watching the rest so we decided to go to the casino to have a couple of beers. While we were at Amerisports bar we noticed a familiar face sitting at the bar all alone. I couldn’t stop myself from heading over and introducing myself. And that was the night I met Roger Craig, csb
