Hello to the forum. I have tickets , (newfound) to the Big Ten tournament in Iowa City and at the last minute trying to secure travel and lodging. Iowa city is booked however Cedar Rapids has many a room. How is the travel from Cedar Rapids to Carver Hawkeye Arena? Map says it is 30 miles or 40 minute journey? I really wanna know from my fellow wrestling fans before I book the actual air fare and lodging. Thank you in advance for any help you may provide and wrestle on.

i dont know where at in cedar rapids your hotel is but 30 min is about right. its interstate hwy between the two and is an easy drive, the biggest problem will be around the arena its self.

A few others do too according to Trivago (Marriott in Coralville, for example, which is a bit more expensive).

Hope you have a great trip! Should be a great atmosphere in Carver. I think you'll dig it.

Great! It's a bit of a walk, but definitely walkable. If you see an old PSU fan with a long ponytail and baseball cap, that's Bubba. He's staying there too.

2 places to avoid if at all possible. This from experience. Any Hotel in C.R. East of I380 downtown C.R. And places north of Marion. Have you looked at North Liberty? Close enough and many new chain hotels.

I will say this - The Cedar Rapids Marriott, the Best Western Cooper's Mill and the Best Western Longbranch are corporate donors to Wrestling for Life and, thus, very friendly to wrestling. I hold my Division III reception at the Marriott and got a good deal from the Longbranch on the rooms for the kids from Oklahoma that we brought to Grapple on the Gridiron.

Hope he's bringing his wife/gf and not his brother or cousin if he's gonna be scoring from his seat.

Didn't MSU or another team end up with -1 in the B1G so yea...it's a possibility. Hell, he's points ahead just by scoring some Carver ice cream

MSU finished NCAAs last year with -0.5 team points. They were edged out by Northern Illinois and Gardner-Webb, who scored 0.
