Admitted newbie here, but I saw a stat where Minnesota as beaten Iowa in volleyball 49 straight times. What's the story with Iowa Volleyball - why so little success? Is there potential there?
The border states are all light years ahead of where Iowa is. The type of player they need to make a jump in the standings can go to almost every other team in the conference & have more success. They're looking at 15+ losses per year in the B1G with the rosters they are putting out. Top in-state talent has no interest in being involved with the program. Fan support is barely there (which isn't surprising given how often they lose). I'm not sure what type of commitment the University is willing to make for a sport that has had no history of success. If they wanted to make a splash, they'd have a volleyball only facility, make someone like DBK the first million dollar per year coach, and have 500k for NIL 😂Admitted newbie here, but I saw a stat where Minnesota as beaten Iowa in volleyball 49 straight times.
