He looks like that hip is still sore. Lacks any quickness.Pete has had some serious defensive lapses and some concentration related turnover so he needs to sit for a little bit.
Look they are hot and getting the typical home court cooking. That's a recipe for a tough night. They will not do either in the NCAAs and be out after the first weekend. Seen this movie from them a zillion times.
Not sure about Jok ........but I do know we needed Woody playing D under the hoop tonight! Yeah .....the same Woody that some people couldn't wait for him to go .......this might be a 10 point game if someone could stop the layups!
Best thing he did was shoot with a man in his face a bit like jok without the elevation. Which shows a more aggressiveness than I've seen from him. Defensively so so.Brady earned his time tonight
Easy there big fella. Woody had 4 juniors/seniors helping on defense. Huge difference. We had kids that couldn't play shell defense out there tonight. That's a coaching point that goes back to the seton hall game.Woody was going to be the toughest player to replace this year. But since his game was not flashy people thought he sucked.
Guards don't matter, just read some of the posts in here. In Fran's system, we don't need a true PG who is quick, can score, defend, and get hoops to stop droughts. We saw a FRESHMAN guard for Purdue completely control the game while our guards dribbled east to west and had 0 impact on the game. Purdue's 1-3 slashed and finished, while ours fumbled, stumbled, and charged.
We need a bigger body down low. Throw Kriener out there and use his 5 fouls to save Cook and Pemsl. Dailey is long and appears to have the ability to score. No sense in wasting these guys based on 0 contributions from others. Start Kriener, Cook, Pemsl, Jok, and Bohannon. Bring Moss, Baer, Wagner, Dailey, and Ellingson off the bench with brief appearances by Uhl and Williams. If Fran doesn't change the lineup, Pemsl and Cook will be sitting 2 minutes into the second half in foul trouble all season. Kriener is a pick and pop threat, which we need given all the attention Jok is getting.

Respectfully disagree on Purdue in NCAA tournament. I think they have the horses to be sweet 16 at least. Time will tellThis is a true story
He has a lot of shooting ability, but I always had the feeling he spelled team with an "I" and that comment indicates that, not good. This from Peter's post game interview...“Nobody was really trying to get me open. I had tough shots,” Jok said of the first half. “. Maybe I'm taking it wrong but blaming your teammates..wow. Maybe he didn't mean to say it like it came out.
I love my Hawks too....... down 20 at half when the press got put on doesn't necessarily mean Woody single handily shut them down. The press did wonders at Purdue.Sorry there big fella. Woody single handily shut down those 2 bigs from Purdue last year. Why us it so hard for people to give woody credit? Said it all last year that he would be very tough to replace. Proving to be very true.
Except if you look at the numbers Woody made a HUGE difference in our defensive efficiency from day one when he started as a freshman.Easy there big fella. I don't think you could be more wrong. Pete has ALWAYS been gracious in talking about his teammates. He is a shooter and a scorer and I think he was just frustrated. And correct. We have the best scorer in the Big and his teammates need to realize that.He has a lot of shooting ability, but I always had the feeling he spelled team with an "I" and that comment indicates that, not good.
No way in HELL should Kriener ever start. Not even in 3 years.Guards don't matter, just read some of the posts in here.
