Multiple years with guys like Kemmerer, Marinelli, Lee, Young, Warner and Teasdale is going to be fun to watch.
Go Hawks!!!
"They are type of kids I wanna go to war with" On why he wants to go to Iowa
he must have been hanging out with Gilman and talking about his Psychological Warfare.
Dammit! Another wrestler that doesn't like to have fun!!
Iowa wrestling is on the up-tick, big time. Lets compare a 2015 lineup to a 2019 lineup and see what a difference in recruiting ranking there is.
2015 (one top 10 recruit, 2nd as a Team)
#16 Gilman
#23 Clark
#12 Dziewa
#27 Sorensen
# 74 Kelly
#11 Moore
#4 Evans
#20 Brooks
UR Burak
#19 Telford
2019 (Five Top 10 recruits)
#1 Lee
#2 Teasdale
#19 Happel / #52 Murin
#67 Turk
#10 Kemerer
#2 Marinelli
#25 Young
#86 Wilcke
#8 Warner
#14 Stoll
PSU signed/has a verbal from Travis Wittlake, but I can't remember if he'll be 84 or 97...Also, they have 3 total top 10 commits in next years class I believe, don't remember the other 2 though...Side by side(Iowa vs. PSU) 2019 likely starter's recruit rankings
------IOWA--------------------------------PSU
125:Lee #1(2017)----------------------Suriano #3(2016)
133:Teasdale #2(2018)-------------- Cortez #12(2014)
141:Happel #19(2016)----------------Lee #7(2017)
149:Turk#67(2015)--------------------Manville #10(2016), Berge #6(2017)
157:Kemerer#10(2015)--------------Nolf #4(2014)
165:Marinelli #2(2016)---------------Joseph #5(2015)
174:Young #25(2016)----------------Hall #1(2016)
184:Wilcke #86(2015)---------------Nickal #7(2014)
197:Warner #8(2017)----------------Cassar n/a(2014), Nevills n/a(2017)
285:Stoll #14(2014)------------------Nevills #5(2014)
I will say that the Warner signing stands out a bit, since it looks like 197 was the only possible need weight for PSU! Definitely a HUGE pick up for the Hawkeyes!
The crazy thing is, that highly ranked group doesn't even compare to the rankings of the PSU starters. Just shows you how hard it is to compete with PSU recruiting when there is no doubt this is the best recruiting Brands has done since his monster VTech class.
