I know he was playing with his usual intensity and hustle, but he sure looked like he was sweating like crazy very quickly tonight. The only other game I saw him look like that was in Philly in the steam room there.
If he was, hats off to him, just keeps busting his tail every minute

Love having the type of player that gets a thread like this after going 20 and 9 with announcers getting down on their knees about how amazing the defense against him was.

I don't know, but when he shots those free throws early on he looked like he'd been playing in a sauna!

If he is sick, hopefully it's a 24 hour bug :)

He was literally tackled by 34 diving into his legs on one play under the bucket. MSU gets away with hacking and grabbing all game. Iowa didn't have a chance with the way the game was officiated. The curse of the Breslin Center continues. And yet, the Hawks almost pulled it out. This team has grit.

No, he just finally played someone that could match his team physicality + MSU played the double team perfectly anytime he touched it. Still put up 20 & 9; just nuts.

It says something about Luka Garza when I see a discussion on Twitter about yet another 20 point game when people are chiming in trying to undercut it saying he "only" scored 20.

What a lame ass effort, indeed. 20 and 9 in the Breslin Center is clearly an embarrassment.

The reality of this team is that they are developing depth right now. Evelyn, Toussaint, and McCaffery all hit some big shots. Kriener had 18. The reality is that Iowa probably should have won this road game at MSU with Frederick out and Weezy being a complete non-factor. Weezy will find his way and Frederick will be back and this team will be a nightmare matchup in the tournament.

Perfectly said. I'll also add that Pemsl played great in the first half and then had his first bad half of basketball since CJF went down. The team is playign above their heads and that is because they are gritty and tough. Plus, Cassius went off in the 2nd half and he's the best guard in the B10, a legit B10 player of the year candidate. This might not be MSU's best team, but they've still got a LOT of talent. Tough loss, but it was because Iowa was playing them toe-to-toe the whole game even while not playing their best basketball.

Luka is just an amazing warrior. He plays through crap that would wither most players. He is always playing 1 on 2 or 1 on 3. That takes a lot of energy. His conditioning is really good. If his 3 point shots were falling tonight, he would have had 27 to 30 points.

Garza himself said he hurt an ankle at the Barn earlier this month, amazing he's playing as well as he is considering not 100%.

No they didn't, Dakich railed on multiple times about how they didn't double correctly and still let him get to his left shoulder.

Now Tillman played him perfectly by getting on top of that shoulder before he had a chance to turn.

Luka needs to add an up fake and step through off his drop step to counter a player overplaying that side.

Getting hammered every other time down the court, is not amazing defense....

Garza does have that bum ankle. Although he did look gassed, but playing every minute for a big is not an easy task.

I cannot wait to play on a neutral court! And for CJ to come back. His healthy return will be huge!
