Now JJ has to scrap even to get this team into the tourney. Missing out would be a disaster..And hanging onto recruits suddenly becomes an issue:

I think this is fair. Maybe LB got out when she did cause she had reservations about the roster.. Need an influx of talent and shooting and athleticism.

I said they should do an actual coaching search... just like any major D1 team should do.

At this level, there should never be " you get the job because you're a long time assistant".

It's dumb to not do interviews of top candidates, because you just invite the second guessing that you are seeing right now...

So, now fans should expect lousy fundamentals, poor shooting, junior high BBall IQ etc. and bad coaching, just curious.

It’s frustrating, because this team has been right there until the final minute or two of every loss. They aren’t getting blown out. I can’t say they have just been physically overmatched by any team they have lost to. Maybe Tennessee, but even then Iowa lead a good chunk of that game. I’m sure that will show up down the road with UCLA or against any of the top 15 programs.

But a few less turnovers here, a few more free throw makes there…much different record and much different attitude. I’m trying to keep in mind JJ is working with a lot of new faces and a lot of girls in new roles. And they are competitive.

I had no problems giving it to Jan, but I don’t think it’s working. She had a role and it wasn’t to be the boss. Lucy was a scorer in a very mediocre conference where they played one or two good teams. She acts like a junior high girl out there far too often. There’s enjoying the game and there’s having no intensity.
If the assistants aren’t telling JJ “hey we have fouls to give” at the end of regulation, she has bad assistants. Far too many things like that are happening this year. Yes the kids are looking g lost but that’s on her and the staff. She can’t make FTs for them but this season is on her and it’s bad right now.

It seems unfair for anyone to suggest she’s decidedly not the right choice when the season isn’t even finished yet.

But she’s also not doing herself many favors. Always liked Jan, so I hope she can figure it out.
