Damn, 14 for the season! Wow. I won’t need a link tomorrow since it’ll be on TV. As always, thank you!!
Yeah giving up 9 runs in an inning sucks. Worst inning I can remember in some time. Schnauel did not have it at all, I've noticed you can tell very early if he has command issues or not. Also, Shimp did not have it. He has not had it all year. He has like a 10.38 ERA and a WHIP 2.5-2.75? That isn't going to cut it. He pitched well last year too. Credit Iowa for battling back, but the 4th inning was key too. Bases loaded with no outs? Got to get more than 2 runs and avoid a DP. The good news is Iowa's offense is showing life finally.
Game bumped up to noon today. Guess it's still on BTN as tape delayed at 2pm. Not sure what is on TV where they can't air it.

As I tune in for the 2 pm start, the game is in the 7th!! I did not know the game started 2 hours earlier because of the cold weather and predicted snow storm! Not an April Fools joke!

Iowa was down 2-0 after 5 innings (Iowa gave up 2 runs in the 1st inning); they score 2 in the 6 and now 2 in the 7th; now up 4-2 going to the bottom of the 7th!!
And snow is starting to fall; they said on the TV broadcast that 2-5 inches are expected in the area. Hope they can finish this game and hope the Hawks are able to get back to Iowa City with no issues; I assume they went by bus. What a crazy winter/spring so far!

it was a hit and run and the batter failed to make contact, leaving the Iowa runner going from 1st to 2nd an easy out

McDonald had around 115-120 pitches I believe which is incredible.

Iowa wins 4-2, but jesus talk about playing with fire the last three innings. Very lucky to not give it away.

2 of the toughest conference teams out of the way early with a 3-2 record! Not bad!
With Iowa's pitching depth, really going to need quality starts going forward and the offense to continue to do what they have been.
It was at 50 prior to the game, so this win did not do as much as the Friday win.

The thing I've noticed about McDonald and this applied to Schnauel as well actually. If they can get through the first 2-3 innings with minimal damage, they usually end up being ok.

RPI finally updated and it improved like I thought.
Iowa's RPI is 34 right now!
Nothing is given in baseball, but Iowa needs to take care of business and we should be able to get an at-large. The bad part is, we have the second highest RPI in the B1G so we need some others to work theirs up some and back into the top 50 if possible.
