I did not catch as much of it as I hoped since they are our first legit opponent next week....the little I saw they were reasonably athletic, played together fairly well, played pretty hard. They have some talent but they aren't MSU by any means.

I think this will be a good early season test....a game that we could lose but should hopefully take care of business.

I think our front line is a step above theirs....guards will be closer but it should be interesting. I am interested in hearing/reading thoughts from anyone that watched that game to get your impressions.

Get to see ol Charlie Moore again

LOL! Forget about him (thankfully), committed & then de-committed to Memphis (if I remember correctly), then Cal, then KU, and now Depaul. I truly hope that Connor owns him in this game.

They also have Jalen Coleman-Lands, who helped bury us with threes to start the B10 tourney game in 2016 that we never quite caught up from. Of course I see he went 0-5 shooting tonight, so I'd imagine he'll drop 25 in Carver with 7 triples.

Romeo Weems was a 4 star recruit for them too. They randomly have some recruiting star power.

I watched the game tonight as well as their exhibition game last week. Let's just say I have some connections to DePaul. The competition tonight and last week was below average, so it's too early to tell how good DePaul can be this year. However, they miraculously landed the #17 ranked recruiting class, including Romeo Weem, who is a consensus top 50 recruit and the crown jewel of their class. Also, I believe that ranking didn't even include Charlie Moore who was a late transfer and became eligible this season.

DePaul is very athletic and will give Iowa a good test, however, I don't think they will be able to stop Garza inside or defend our 3 point shooters. Based on my observations, their top 2 players are 1) Weem and 2) Charlie Moore. They lit up Alcorn State tonight in the first half, but once Alcorn went zone, DePaul struggled since they don't have many consistent 3 point shooters. I think it will be a close game in the first half but I think they will have difficulty stopping our 3 point shooting or Garza/Kriener down low. If we can contain Moore and Weem, Iowa should win easily. However, DePaul is definitely improved and deeper this year and I can see them finishing in the middle of the pack in the Big East.

Lol...I'm sorry but I don't think Connor can own anybody.

DePaul lost alot of firepower in the post when 4 Star PF Carte'Are Gordon transferred out a month or so before the season. Standing at 6'8 and weighing in at 245 Pounds he was a big loss literally and physically for them.

Yeah, the hatred for Connor is getting ridiculous. I mean he was only an important piece in the rotation to a solid year last year.
Don't hate him I've just never seen him own anybody on the court.I did see back to back turnovers against Lyndsey Wilson the other night that he did commit though so there's that.

Joe Weiskamp practically handed the ball to his defender on one TO he had Connor did have some sloppy play that he needs to clean up but the game was already safely in the bag.

Of course you did. But you missed the 11 assists and directing a very crisp looking offense. But that doesn’t matter because he’s Fran’s kid so he will be expected to play a perfect game while people on this board keep pining for a player like Moss who committed 2-3 WTF turnovers a game (usually in big situations) and disappeared for games at a time.
