Crazy amount of concrete in that mall and parking area. 80 acres of cement maybe?

Unless a Costco or IKEA commits to building I think it’s a waste of money at the moment.

IKEA likely would only consider Des Moines or Iowa City IMO.

it had a nice run as far as malls go. 55 years ago I was thrilled as a kid when it opened. I still miss Bishop’s Buffet.

I worked at Spencer's there when I was at UNI. It was declining back in the early 2000s.

Pretty impressive run. It was a shite-hole when I was at College Square in CF during the late 80's, early 90's.

Southern Hills Mall in Sioux City had a Bishop's and my grandma ate there like it was her job. So many great memories!

My company did the snow there 5+ years ago. I couldn’t believe when I walked in to use the bathroom. Here is this cavernous building with nothing inside. Still blows my mind they could afford to pay the light bill let alone pay us. Crossroads was the place to be when I was a kid.

Aside from being in waterloo it's a good piece of property in a really good location. Right off 20 and 218 and right down the road from Lowes, home depot, sams and Walmart. I wonder if a Bettplex type sports facility could do well there? There isn't much up in that area to compete with?
