The ladies will be playing DePaul on October 15th in Kinnick Stadium. Going to try and break the all time WBB attendance record!
Better be giving tickets away for free then.

Why? When they did grapple on the gridiron, they had 42,000 people in Kinnick. Thats almost 4 times what Carver holds for a match. With popularity of the womens team, (Clark) right now, I could see them bringing in 30,000 which would break the record. Tickets are only $10. The rain out tickets are $20 which will get you in carver if they have to move inside, and can only sell 15K.Better be giving tickets away for free then.

Is the record just under 30k? If so then if the weather is ok I don't see them having a problem with this.
The possibility of seeing Caitlin Clark in Kinnick will have the tickets selling themselves. I wouldn't be surprised if we broke 50K ticket sales.Better be giving tickets away for free then.
Because it’s still women’s basketball…sloppy and unsatisfying but with a three-point shooter that lacks any resemblance of defense 80% of the time. Why? While I agree it is still women’s basketball. I have no doubt in my mind that they will break the record. I work at the university and a ton of people have already been talking about this and checking in to see when tickets go on sale.Because it’s still women’s basketball…sloppy and unsatisfying but with a three-point shooter that lacks any resemblance of defense 80% of the time.
I know the sports media personalities are REALLY pulling for increased interest in the game, but, I just don’t see the appeal.
Obviously my own personal outlook and I don’t judge you if you’re on the women’s bball bandwagon.
Love myself some Gabbie Marshall tho, for sure.
Because the “once in a lifetime opportunity” of attending a women’s college basketball game in kinnick stadium isn’t on my totem pole of life interests. While I agree it is still women’s basketball. Why not enjoy a once in a lifetime opportunity to watch one of the best to ever play the game. Even if it is women’s basketball.
You fail to grasp that you do not speak for anyone else. You saying “no thanks” does not mean others will say “no thanks.” You originally posted “they better give them away for free” and when pressed, said “I don’t see the appeal.”Because the “once in a lifetime opportunity” of attending a women’s college basketball game in kinnick stadium isn’t on my totem pole of life interests.
And Clark will go on the play in the WNBA, which of course is unbearable to watch.

I didn’t say anything about Gabbie’s looks. You made that assumption, right? She plays with intensity on both ends of the court..I enjoy her style and effort. You fail to grasp that you do not speak for anyone else. Fine, but others do — maybe you didn’t pay attention but Iowa WBB set multiple viewership and attendance records last year. No one is forcing you to care or buy tickets, and no one is forcing you to shit on our student athletes. Iowa and Iowa Wbb have enough haters out there, we don’t need more here.
So please shut your whiny little trap. “WBB is boring” is so tired and it reeks of small d*** energy. Please stop remarking on Gabbie Marshall’s looks while you’re at it. Unless you’d like me to start commenting on which men’s players are the hottest.
OK, then why are you here? Like we get it dude. But this is a big deal for the women's program, just like it was for Men's Wrestling. Fans are going to show up in droves to support Caitlin and the team at Kinnick.Because the “once in a lifetime opportunity” of attending a women’s college basketball game in kinnick stadium isn’t on my totem pole of life interests.
Sometimes it's better to just shut the **** up and allow people to be excited about something.I didn’t say anything about Gabbie’s looks. You made that assumption, right? She plays with intensity on both ends of the court..I enjoy her style and effort.
Secondly, why would I care if you commented on a male player being attractive? I wouldn’t. It would make zero sense to get defensive about something like that.
Lastly - see post #8. I made it clear I’m not speaking for anyone but myself.
Got it, Sensitive Sally?
Caitlin Clark Effect™A scrimmage… that intends to draw 70,000 fans… says something momentous about the rise of popularity for women’s college basketball.
Caitlin Clark Effect™
Everyone there would be nipping outI know it would been cold, but it would have been great to have this for a regular season game. Still pretty cool.
Pretty sure Hy-Vee and other large companies are already taking care of that. Can they set up free will donations for Caitlin's fifth year?
This isn't even necessary, there is a roster spot for her.Can they set up free will donations for Caitlin's fifth year?

While I understand part of what you are saying about women's basketball in general, this Iowa team is entertaining and a fun watch. You just have to put aside the thought that dunks make the game better. The men's game turns the ball over too much as well. You're just accustomed to it because it's done more "athletically."Because it’s still women’s basketball…sloppy and unsatisfying but with a three-point shooter that lacks any resemblance of defense 80% of the time.

Per ticket office person they sold 9000 tickets in the first hour.I just got my tickets as a football ticket holder...WOW...they are going quick! There wasn't anything left really but singles down near the court, I'm 60 rows up...and I don't believe it's even open to the public yet. And everytime I picked seats they were taken by the time I clicked add to cart.
They're going to break whatever record they're going for and then some I think.
I would believe it...if anyone was questioning if Hawk fans would flock to this, I assure you...that concern has been soundly put to bed. You're going to see a turnout that at least matches the Grapple on the gridiron match.Per ticket office person they sold 9000 tickets in the first hour.
