Win the next and it's a done deal I assume?Lock it up boys!!
This was the one according to several of the top bracketologists on Twitter.Win the next and it's a done deal I assume?
It’s a wrap!Win the next and it's a done deal I assume?
6 seed if we beat NW? Almost a lock. 7 worst case?Lock it up boys!!
So if we lose 4 straight with a loss to me we still make it?It’s a wrap!
I would think we'd need to beat NW, Michigan and probably IL to reach a 6.6 seed if we beat NW? Almost a lock. 7 worst case?
I could see Iowa slipping to 9 if it all falls apart here but I think it’ll ultimately be 7, maybe 8. It’ll get real interesting if we win next 2 and 1 in BTT..6 seed if we beat NW? Almost a lock. 7 worst case?
We are about there before tonight. Win Monday, lose both on road and win 1 BTT game think we a 7 worst case.I would think we'd need to beat NW, Michigan and probably IL to reach a 6.
I'd guess we're most likely 7-9 territory, which is unfortunate.

Yep, agree. Win Monday and playing with a lot of House Seed money! If we win 2 of the last 3 and 1 in the B1G tournament we will be a 6. Let's shoot for that or more.

That's smart. So if we lose 4 straight with a loss to me we still make it?
I'll play it safe and wait til Monday to celebrate. :knockonwood:
Meh. Much like last year, the 2 line isn't the most daunting it's ever been, so a 7 seed wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.I would think we'd need to beat NW, Michigan and probably IL to reach a 6.
I'd guess we're most likely 7-9 territory, which is unfortunate.
There's not a number 1 seed that would be worried to play Iowa, whether it's Gonzaga, Baylor, Kentucky, Houston, or Kansas they all have something Iowa doesn't have.Would be huge to win 3 or 4 more before the dance to get a 6 seed. Right now, no one wants to play Iowa.
Exactly why getting a 6 seed would be huge. Then, we play a 10 seed in round 1 and probably a 3 seed to go to the sweet 16. That is not an impossible task. Given the past failures in the dance, I understand the negativity, but there are also a lot of teams that would probably prefer not to play Iowa in the first couple of rounds. There's not a number 1 seed that would be worried to play Iowa, whether it's Gonzaga, Baylor, Kentucky, Houston, or Kansas they all have something Iowa doesn't have.
Yes besides a quality big it's tradition. Iowa craps it's pants playing teams that have the tradition of advancing to the sweat 16 and beyond.
As it turned out, it really is too bad that Fran didn't get a shot blocker out of the portal to patrol the middle and protect the rim. It's the one thing that will derail us getting to the second week again...but you never know with this team, they do have a legit all american in Keegan.
Jack Nunge. Just kidding. I liked Jack as a project, and it sucks that we didn’t get to see that come to fruition. But I agree, Rebraca might not be a rim protector or enforcer, but he’s no stiff either. He’s got some skills, and we know Fran looks for that.Exactly why getting a 6 seed would be huge. The repeated dissing of Rebraca seems silly. He was a solid addition. Fran hasn't done all that I would like to attract transfers, but name a some centers who were realistically available to Fran in the portal last year.
I may be willing to give my left testicle for a 6 seed, 2 wins in the BTT, 2 wins in the dance, and a damn Rose Bowl victory or playoff appearance …
I’m done having kids I’d probably give up one for just an elite 8 at this pointIf I'm giving up a testicle there better be a Natty involved, and I don't mean the cheap beer. Although I'll probably need a few of those too. lol
For one thing, very few of us looking at the portal knew the strengths or weaknesses of the centers that occupied the portal. Everyone was concentrating of Fran getting someone that had scoreablity, not necessarily on defense, rebounding, and shot blocking....did you?Exactly why getting a 6 seed would be huge. I'd trust some average joe off the streets more than I'd trust E$PN these daysA lock on ESPN bubble watch this AM.
I did look, but can't remember names. There weren't many that I saw. I know Brunk went to OSU from IU, but I think Rebraca is better. I was intrigued by a shorter, but stocky guy who had been on the all-defensive team from a lesser conference, but my memory sucks. Rebraca was probably one of the better options Fran had, and I think he could play next year if he wants. For one thing, very few of us looking at the portal knew the strengths or weaknesses of the centers that occupied the portal. Fran knew what he had and didn't necessarily fail but it's taken a while for Filip to get his legs under him playing against better talent in the Big Ten. You can see he's working his butt off trying and improve his rebounding and free throw shooting and it's showing....

So was I. Other than no initial offer, it seemed like the perfect fit for both sides. Instead he chose a .500 Vanderbilt team, and his season was over in 6 games.Fran was all in on Robbins but he choose Vanderbilt.
This, and he'd have been a great fit as well. As it worked out he's been hurt most of the year, so there's that. The portal is a crap shoot, and most (not all) of these guys are leaving because they aren't happy where they are currently. Thats not always a recipe for success introducing that guy into your lineup. Many seem to think its some kind of magic bullet, but its not.Fran was all in on Robbins but he choose Vanderbilt.
I think Iowa might be a 5 or 4 if they win the next 3.I would think we'd need to beat NW, Michigan and probably IL to reach a 6.
I'd guess we're most likely 7-9 territory, which is unfortunate.
If we win those three we probably move up to a 5 seed. That would put Iowa at 23-8 overall and 13-7 conference.I would think we'd need to beat NW, Michigan and probably IL to reach a 6.
