We didn't just lose, we got our asses beat

The most glaring stat is the 50 some yards rushing Iowa had?? WTF, why didn't we run the ball more. Do we not believe in a toss play? Do we not run zone reads? I mean seriously WTF are we doing on offense?

23. 23 rushing yards.

For the most part, CJ has been able to mask the ineptness that is the Greg Davis offense. Just wasn't able to do it today.

I didn't understand all the 2 TE packages. Why do you want to play in a phone booth when you presumably have better athletes? Make them defend the whole field.

Actually it was 34. I was way off

It's just ridiculous isn't it?!? I couldn't believe it when I saw it. I can't believe what I just saw

I figured NDSU would be much like UNI. They would be able to hang in the middle and force Iowa outside. The problem was, Iowa didn't want to go outside? I mean that backside blitz for the first TD, everyone in the stadium could see it! Then all the runs right at their strengths.

Did Iowa run a zone read at all or a stretch play? Wasn't everything off tackle? I mean we didn't give Wadley or Daniels a chance to break it.

FYI the long run for Daniels in the 3rd, WORST holding call in the history of college football. But doesn't matter, NDSU earned the W

Because the line was getting their ass kicked and we would be punting before we had a chance. The only way we moved the ball at all was through the air. When the other team has the ball for 36 minutes of the game, that isn't a lot of time to run many plays.

OL play was weak. Playcalling was confusing. Didn't realize how far the dropoff would be with Daniels and Welsh out..B Ferentz's group were not prepared or capable of much today.

I agree with you but like KF likes to say those other guys are on Scholly too.

Didnt look like there was any adjustments made.

They went in thinking they could run their basic stuff and kept at it all game.

That last offensive series was classic Ferentz/Davis.

Couple first downs win the game but no urgency to make it happen, just more of what hadn't worked all day.

I mean why not run play action at least one time. Or how about something that has worked, Wadley PA fake and run down the sideline? I mean Iowa didn't do anything out of the ordinary, it was like I was watching a classic Jake Rudock offense. Once betheard got dinged up, its like our offense went soft.

With two minutes to go- you need one first down- you run 3 times when they have held you to 50 yards for the game and you are suppose to have a nfl QB?

If I'm not mistaken the Stanley pass was off play action for about 1/10 of our yardage on the day. I am not advocating Stanley take over, only agreeing that when the defense is stuffing the running game you have to do something to generate offense.

All day the PA was there. But we didn't do any of it?? It is just strange how our coaching staff goes away from something that is working.

Yeah, that holding call was crap. Probably would have won the game if that wasn't called. That being said, we didn't deserve to win
I guess we didn't see it the same. I don't know how you can't call that a hold. He had his arm around him. Even if he wasn't actually holding him they are going to call that every time, especially when they are getting pulled away right in front of the ball carrier.

The offensive and defensive lines ought to be embarrassed with how they got dominated. It was pathetic to watch. The play calling was terrible and the adjustments were non-existent. KF and staff make terrible in game adjustments. Our lack of talent was seen today. I just hope the recruits stay on board so we can add some talent.....

The score is not indicative in how badly we got beat. They dominated Iowa in all aspects. We were destroyed at the line on both sides of the ball. Time of possession was ridiculous, they had the ball for 36 minutes.

This was a beat down through and through.

now can NDSU get that big 12 invite?

It looked to me like the DL was getting his ass kicked on that play and was holding onto the player for dear life. Still, that's no excuse for the team to fall apart after that. That play completely changed the game and it shouldn't have.
