Not going to cut it for a top 5 team on the road against decent teams. Scholarship bench was completely awful.
But he shot a weak wide open three w/ zero chance to go in. Think it was his only shot of the game. But his defense appeared better than the rest of the bench.I think Baer played solid defense
Yeah it was an ugly shot, but he at least provided useful minutes. Wagner fouled a bunch, Brady had a turnover or two, and Uhl was practically invisible. Baer at least got a hand in on a few passes and disrupted them and in general seemed to play with solid effort. But he shot a weak wide open three w/ zero chance to go in. Didn't Baer have 3 fouls tho ?I think Baer played solid defense
I would say 3 (as usual)...Uthoff, Jok and Woodbury.

The rebounding was critical. Both teams wound up with 19 offensive rebounds but Indiana more often scored off theirs. We had 3 offensive rebounds on one possession and never did score on it. FT shooting really hurt as well. One of those nights, poor FT shooting and rebounding. We do one of those things well we win the game. I do think IU played with more fire in the first half, being at home probably had something to do with that. We need to take care of business and we can still achieve the Big Ten Crown.
Don't be posting reasonable thoughts like this. Don't you know it's supposed to be all doom and gloom posts after a loss?Have anyone watched college basketball this year. Look at all the upsets across the country on a weekly basis. Yeah we lost, we probably could have won, but this wasn't a bad loss. Indiana just had a bad loss against Penn State and their backs were against the wall. The crowd was crazy and Indiana made every open 3 and every free throw. Iowa got down 16 in a hostile environment and managed to climb all the way back. Made some mistakes down the stretch that nobody likes but don't disregard all the good plays. We will beat IU the next time in Carver, probably by double digits.
